Wrighthaven designed and built our new home and we could not be happier with all aspects of the work that this team did. From the overall housing development with its focus on energy efficient homes to the individual design and attention to details and work, Wrighthaven exhibited outstanding results and exceeded our expectations. Kudos to Steve, Kali, Adriana, Lisa, Sarah, Shane, and WH's entire site team (and contractors) - great job!

TL;DR - If you pay for something, you want to receive the expected product. Pictures and illustrations below

Summary: Don't think that you are getting anything different than the large builders, if you decide to go with Wrighthaven. The experience is just as bad.

If you choose Wrightaven, you will have to continually fight, follow up, get belittled by the owner.

If his workers challenge him, they seem to leave. We have had 4 different "site supervisors" come by to perform work. They have shared that the owner doesn't always see things the same as them, or the customer.

They have done no repairs during Covid, and we go months between follow ups, which we prompt. Seems like they are using it as an excuse. Other companies are out there doing repairs, these guys are not.

Built a home with them. 3 years later still trying to get them to correct issues which were identified [prior] to moving in, and more since closing.
Using the Tarion program

1. HRV system - doesn't work in the master bathroom. Drywall is sagging, condensation is causing issues. Owner Steve told me to "Open a window"

Steve came to our home, told me, the HVAC expert [Priority Mechanical] and his own people that they didn't know anything that the system worked fine. It doesn't. The owner steam rolled multiple people to tell us there wasn't a problem, there still is, he knows, no action.

2. Front walk way - They have been back three times to regrade. The water still flows towards the house. I assume its ineptitude, as this is not quick work, but its still not proper. pics below.

3. Eave trough - was never sealed properly, leaks at multiple corners

4. Tile grout - cracking on the main floor 2 weeks after moving in.

5. Random drywall "touch ups" that were supposed to be fixed as part of our 1 year Tarion, remain uncorrected.

6. Flashing - we have lost 2 pieces of flashing. The produce is supposed to be rated for 140km/h winds, we lost 2 pieces in sub 100km/h winds. No other neighbours were affected, suspect it was installed incorrectly - update - this was corrected

7. Roof leak - Flashing at front window had 3/4 inch gap allowing rain into the roof and garage - Wrightaven did some and fix this, we suspect the poor flashing installation - similar to what we had on the higher level.

There is more, these are the big items. I will update pictures / review as items get fixed.

Lisa is Great, You couldn't pay me to build with Wrighthaven again.

This is a long, overdue review.

I can not say enough good things about Wrighthaven! We purchased our home in the midst of the pandemic, which created many issues in the industry. This did not prevent Wrightaben from delivering a beautiful, well constructed home that we absolutely love.

Steve takes great pride in his homes, and it shows.

The entire team has been wonderful to deal with over the last year and a half for any small fixes that were needed (very normal for a new build to have some small items that need to be repaired after possession). Even items that I expected some pushback with were not an issue at all and fixed in a timely manner.

We hired a home inspector to complete our 1 year warranty inspection. The inspector confirmed that we had chosen one of the best builders (one of only 2 that he personally would consider working with). Any issues identified in the report were minor cosmetic issues.

This builder has definitely set the bar high, and if we ever decide to purchase a new build again, I hope we have the pleasure of working with Wrighthaven.

If you are considering a Wrighthaven home, you won't be disappointed!!

Builds a decent home. However, refuses to take accountability to fix their deficiencies once you get the key. Of course everyone makes mistakes but they will not own up to theirs. That is extremely disappointing and frustrating. We spend a fortune on buying a home but you have to fight tooth and nail for them to fix anything and resolve it properly. The owner Steve is very lackadaisical and will not live in reality that his team actually makes mistakes. When they finally do address it, they provide a slap stick smoke and mirrors solution. To the point that a repair needs to be repaired again. This is the result of being cheap and cutting corners. I will not go into detail but some of the solutions will leave you scratching your head. Terrible business etiquette. I highly doubt they would want to be treated that way when buying a home. Before you settle on this builder, do yourself a favour and check other builders out as well. It looks like years ago their reviews were quite favourable. Something must have transpired in the last few years to warrant negative reviews and somewhere along the way they stopped caring about their customers and providing exceptional customer service. (Let’s not blame Covid either). My name has been changed to protect my identity. They can and will deny this claim all they want. This review is 110% honest.

We built our home with Wrighthaven in 2018. It was a great experience from beginning to end. Having been first time home buyers, the sales team was very patient and honest with us. There were no surprises in terms of price and upgrades. The design team helped us choose beautiful colors and styles for our interior and exterior. We never felt rushed and they helped us stay within our budget. The home is QUALITY built. We had a couple minor issues come up (all expected in a new home) after a year that the builder quickly and efficiently resolved. We love our home and don't plan on moving yet. However, if we did, we would build with Wrighthaven again.

Steve Wright came for the final walk through which was very considerate. We want to thank our after purchase team of Lisa and Kyle who were extremely helpful with all of our inquiries and graciously accommodated our last minute add-ons.

My husband and I have had such a great experience with Wrighthaven! Rachel and Sarah helped us with the initial purchase and were so knowledgeable and patient with all of our questions. Kali and Emily have been an absolute joy to work with. They have both been professional, honest and respond to our questions via e-mail/phone promptly. Natalie, Martina, and Jordan from Xanadu were so helpful and always accessible. Last but not least, Lisa and Niki led us through the final walkthrough and were so professional and genuine. The Wrighthaven team has done an amazing job, leading us through the construction and design phases of our new home, and we would recommend them in a heartbeat. There´s always uncertainty with a new built, but Wrighthaven´s team makes it enjoyable and FUN! Thank you for all of your hard work and expertise!! Our house truly feels like a home. We don't want to think about moving, but if we ever decide to, it will be at another Wrighthaven home.
