Terrible customer service and poor work. The office is great and the fan installation people are excellent but I warn people to stay away from the building side of things. They subcontract all their work and it is subpar to say the least.
Because it is a strata complex they will also not relay any information on repairing the unit that you own. The excuse is the strata is the client so I do not deserve any information on our home that we own.
Matt Derish is the project manager for this and he will not relay any information regarding repairs, timelines or completion. If that is the kind of service you would like by all means go with Winmar and Matt Derish but this is my experience.
Our home has been without an entire bedroom (rotten exterior wall) since November of 2022 and it is now September of 2023. Here is some picture of the 15’x8’ wall and pictures of the work when I get home for proof of the workmanship that they have subcontracted out.
There is no excuses for this kind of service and actions that they still have not completed.
This is the work and dangerous work area that Matt Derish from Winmar Restoration is responsible for and has been left like this for nearly a year.
They have raised the foundation on top of a cracked foundation that still has water ingress from above below and exterior siding. The foundation that they did raise has concrete patches all over it. (Our 10 year old child could do a better job at patching) however it should not be patched in the first place if the job was done right. The interior foundation wall that they poured is bulging out and protrudes past the drywall which will be a problem if it ever gets to that stage. The foundation leaks between the new wall and the foundation. They still have not removed a portion of the foundation that has blown out and spilled concrete on our floor. The raised foundation is not straight plumb or level. We have had three emergency water ingress call-out issues so far since Winmar was contracted to do the repairs. (Very expensive) and not necessary if the repairs were done properly effectively or in a time sensitive manner. They simply blame strata for everything and yes strata is partly to blame for timing however strata is not responsible for Matt’s actions or the work he is responsible for. He regularly will not answer phone calls, text messages and he even proceeded to tell our manager for me to refrain from messaging him after hours even though he is responsible for the issues. Like water pouring in our house on our electrical wires (that are taped) which is wrong or our animals and neighbours animals coming and going in our home. I did that twice only and there was VERY Good reasoning for this. They are are animals and our house was leaking because of his work. Also the scaffolding three stories high nearly blew over off the building into our parking lot and or cars/people. We were away for the long weekend and we had our cats escape out of the house and another cat entered our home while we were out of town on holidays. That is how secure there Jobsites are if a cat can enter or exit there is nothing stopping anything else such as rodents or criminals.

Stay away from this type of company and Matt Derish at all costs.Matt Derish has a terrible “better than you” attitude and is very arrogant to put it lightly. If you have had the pleasure of dealing with him I am sure you have noticed his attitude and actions.

Poor customer skills and very poor workmanship, Matt Derish is the project manager and he will not talk to the homeowner and frequently ignores messages and phone calls.
Stay away from This buisiness they subcontract all their work and it is subpar to say the least.
If you are a strata owner he will not speak to you and says we are not the client so he will not provide any updates, timelines, or expectations. He never returns calls and has a “ I’m better than you attitude”. Stay away from the construction side of things and Winmar.
Office and fan installation people are wonderful but that’s it.

Today, Ryan Anderson of Winmar completed a water damage project in my condo apartment. The work done below the initial cost estimate, everything was completed ahead of schedule, and my unit is in better shape than when I moved in. The staff were friendly, yet professional and Ryan kept me appraised during every stepthroughout the process. If anyone needs restoration work done to their home, contact Ryan Anderson. You will be treated fairly and happy with the results. Bravo!

Matt and WINMAR were great to deal with when we had an insurance claim related to water damage. They made a difficult situation much easier than it could have been. All the trades people involved were professional and we felt at ease having them in our home.

This is the second time we’ve used Winmar! And we’ve been so happy with their service! This time, with a major sewage mess in our crawl space that was stinking up our whole house, they arrived promptly with in hours of contacting them on the Friday night of a long weekend. They were polite and cheerful about their job (a very nasty job!!!), telling us to go relax while they took care of it. What a relief for us to have such a confident team taking care of our horrendous mess!! Thank you so much!

Absolutely horrible service. We had a claim for windstorm damage in November, 2015. It is now May and it still has not been repaired. The shingles on our home are flapping in the wind, we still have a broken window. They have done some work and just left the rest. Darren Miller was our rep and he has consistently lied and refused to return my phone calls. After six months of this nightmare, we have been in contact with our insurance adjuster and he has had no luck with Winmar... in fact Darren explained to him that he did not know the roof was damaged. That sir, is an outright lie. They had removed the debris of shingles from our yard when they did the initial clean up.
We now have the ok to find our own companies to do the work.
I do not recommend this company for any projects what so ever.

Great service and the end result exceeded our expectations. From start to finish Winmar was quick and efficient, even meeting the expected completion date despite 2 days of torrential rain. A good decision to use them for our roof replacement!

Very fast response time, all staff during the stages of the cleanup and job were professional, friendly, clean and polite. They offered great customer service and completed the job on an appropriate timeline. Workmanship of the job was very good and to satisfaction.
