Wilco Construction did a major renovation, including an addition, on our first home on Salt Spring. We were so impressed with the quality of the build and their dedication to the project that we didn’t even contact anyone else when we decided to build our custom home. Again, they surpassed our expectations.
Fast forward a few years and I began to work with Ian, Trevor and the team at Wilco. I experienced first-hand their serious commitment to build the best possible home for their clients, with an eye to quality and budget.
We would not hesitate to recommend Wilco. In fact, we think you would be doing yourself a disservice not to consider them.

We are happily living in a fine Wilco home, beautifully designed specifically for a property on Salt Spring Island. It wasn't custom built for us, but we purchased directly from some of the owners of Wilco Construction. The transfer was thoughtfully managed: we had a personal orientation; there is great documentation; and Wilco organized some trades the day we moved in (a wiring change we requested plus they changed out a whole section of countertop at their insistence for an imperceptible flaw). Wilco has been accessible for questions and small issues and have effectively managed some upgrades. Any trades they arrange/recommend are the same people they use on their building projects--professional, on-schedule and pleasant. For example Wilco handled a modification of some of the custom cabinetry and it required a very skilled master carpenter to give us what we wanted while cleverly keeping hidden access to heating valves. We enjoy watching their builds on our walking route and follow their work on Instagram.

I would have preferred a different review and the review should have been heading to be five stars but poor communication in my opinion led to expenses we did not expect. Early positive engagement and good client service led to high expectations and a high bar but when the client is disappointed a poor review is inevitable. To be fair, Wilco did help us in some sticky situations, and some of Wilco’s staff are very good. When issues become difficult communication should be top of mind. This was the failure in my opinion.
Wilco did not agree to compromise on the final bill as a gesture. We have since found builders that can provide more economical estimates. Do your homework; or be prepared to pay up.

I was so lucky the day I met Trevor, Frank and Chental. I had been looking for the the right construction company for my new home for quite a while. Trevor quickly put to rest my anxieties about design and planning and was very clear about the building costs. He had my design plans in front of him for our first meeting and was already highlighting things to be aware of in the project. Frank was wonderful with design suggestions and direction all through the build. The invoices and statements were timely and Chental answered any questions that my bank had. Even when things got tricky toward the end of the project, they were supportive of my position and facilitated a very satisfactory outcome. Needless to say, I am over the moon with my home on SSI and a big part of that is the fantastic experience I had with Wilco. Thanks guys, for everything!

Could not be happier with Wilco. They finished our home when our original contractor ( Al & I Contractors )had delay after delay and poor workmanship and drug issues and work not meeting code. When Wilco took over things went as they had planed. On time and on budget. You pay for what you get !!! Next house is all Wilco's
