The sales person was nice and treated me with respect. This is something a lot of other sales people lack when dealing with young clients. The model house also looked great and the quality seemed good.

Awsome model homes.

Richcraft model homes are a great place to take our energy filled children! Our family loves touring through model homes. We've taken out friends, we've gone ourselves and it's always nice to see what modern styles and interiors Richcraft has conjured up.

Richcraft after service and warranty is the worst I have ever seen. No clear timelines , always have an excuse. Most frustrating company I have ever dealt with. When there is low inventory in housing and high demand , it's obvious customer service comes last. Avoid. I'll be happy to share my experiences with anyone.

Update: November, 2023.
There are now multiple major construction development projects ongoing concurrently within a 10 minutes walk from my house. I'm done! Anyone want to buy a home and double their current mortgage?

Update: September, 2023
Due to the intense dynamite blasting, underground infrastructure work and construction at Robert Grant and at Fernbank, water mains have been taking on much sediment. Now my homes water intake system is malfunctioning and I must pay a plumber to fix.

Update: August,.2023.
Past three days my house has been shaking from construction dynamite blasting. Just learned that blasting will continue until mid-September.This is my 10th summer in Blackstone/Fernbank Crossing, and still dealing with construction kaos and disturbances. 10 years ago, we knew there wound be blasting and construction kaos for a while, but 10 years out? Still? Seriously?

Update: July 2023.

I have learned that apparently there are no limits to residential and institutional development in this area. I am officially feeling smothered by the growing population and construction activity. This fall I will have two new primary schools and one super high school (gr.7-12) within a short walk from my house. 2 massive condo buildings on Robert Grant/Livery soon and Robert Grant Dr will be widened in the near future to accommodate the huge increase in resident population and the huge increase in transient school related population. Time to start pushing municipal officials to set limits to growth if we want to nurture a peaceful and sustainable community. Why intensify development in certain areas if there is no shortage of land to build. The city boundary is one of the largest cities in North America, much of it remains undeveloped or underdeveloped in rural areas.

Update: July 2021:
Still living in a major construction zone, seven years (7) after moving in. Cope Ave. and Robert Grant appear to be the major hotspots for consistent high volume and frequency of large construction vehicles and machinery 7AM-5PM Monday-Friday. New home construction and school construction are at an all-time high. In this immediate area several major projects have begun: four schools, (two primary/elementary and two high schools), and an additional primary school has been been planned for construction at Yellowtail and Cope (construction start date TBD). Add to this several development proposals will be/have been approved for construction of several condo/apartment buildings, 15, 12 and 6 stories high along Robert Grant Ave and as well along Livery St. This begs the question: is anyone asking what are the limits to growth? Words can not describe how disappointed I feel.

Summer, 2020:
Moved into our new Home in Fernbank Crossing (same neighborhood as Westwood in Stittsville) in 2014. Back then we were living in a major construction zone. Six years later, we are still living in a major construction zone. I almost collided with a huge dump truck just this morning as I drove my daughter to school. The rate of residential construction growth of this area is totally out of control. And I don't see an end to it. I've had several near accidents with construction traffic, dump trucks, delivery trucks, flat bed trucks, dozers, backhoes, cranes etc.... Most trades and construction companies do not care for the communities they are working in. To them, its just a worksite. I've had on my vehicle major stone chips, tire blow outs and scratches from gavel/dirt and construction debris on roads in my neighborhood. We have a new Super High School, Paul Desmarais (1000+ students) so our neighbourhood is extremely busy with school buses and kids on bikes everywhere. I can't imagine how chaotic our neighbourhood will become next year when we will have A SECOND High School in our neighbourood. I will NEVER buy a new home again. My advice to anyone thinking of buying a new home: be prepared for major trade-offs (long-term) as it concerns the above. Yes, new home warranty, etc... HOWEVER.....

Customer service is nonexistent. The woman that works in the sales office sounds like she hates her job and her life. Doesn’t want to help at all and treats potential customers like inconveniences.

The house has a very poor construction, cut corners are obvious around the house, and on top of all the poor workmanship, we paid extra for grouting to have a brown color but all the grouts in the kitchen, entrance and mudroom have cracks and the colors are not consistent, the guy who did the tiles told us Richcraft used the cheapest and garbage material for grouting, on top of all, the warranty manager started threatening and forcing us to accept the touch up or she close the file even their inspector and the floor guy wrote the report that the tiles should be re-grouted, we are following up with Tarion , we have the same flooring with Minto in our another house, nicely done and did not have any cracks after 4/5 years, we are so disappointed at Richcraft, poor quality, poor construction and only cut corners, besides their customer care at their office is rude , they just want to get a signature that job is done , which we do not sign any paper if we are not happy ... The entrance door is damaged as they did a poor job on that and they just patched it and colored badly ,they asked for signature that job is on done on the door and we did not sign ... long story short , we are not happy and customer care is only a name, basically they do not care about the customers , these tiles on the pictures are in our kitchen, entrance and the grout supposed to be brown !!!

Visited the sale centre to look at some model homes, my wife made a general comment about the closets being disproportionally huge but was told that "People HERE have so much hockey and winter equipment to store". We found the comment to be a bit bigotry and sarcastic.
