Lived here since 2020. Pros & Cons:
Cons first:
-Was at constant war with ants. I think I won at last, but can't speak for other units.
-"DOG FECES" emails regularly from landlord, though are funny notifications to see pop up on your phone to be honest.
-Despite website claims, my fridge was from the 1960s. It was loud so I asked for something not-loud, so I now have one from the late 1990s. Progress.
-I can hear my upstairs neighbours when they pee (not a joke, you have been warned, yes it's so gross).
-When upstairs neighbours flush, it sounds like a bathtub worth of water just crashed across the ceiling. Intrigues my cat every time.
-Frozen or scalded randomly in shower as no thermostatic valve.
-Move-in experience was bad, they forgot my agreed-upon move-in date (that I'd payed pro-rated rent in advance for, long text conversation prior to move-in sorting out cost, etc.), and had someone living in the unit still, so my Uhaul full of belongings had to sit for almost a week. The agent who messed up was with Panoramic Properties, who used to manage this building, but no longer manage it so your mileage may very.
-Previous superintendent Gord & wife (very nice people who watch OANN on a massive TV you couldn't not see while driving by) randomly moved out with no notice, and then landlord changed everyones locks and installed cameras (somewhat a Pro, but a concerning situation nonetheless that we never received clarity about, if there was any).
-No parking lot cameras (not that that is super common), but we've received landlord emails about break-ins in the parking lot. I have not had a break in (to my car, at least).
-Three times unannounced someone tried keys in my apartment door lock recently while I was home, terrifying experience, felt like a home invasion but with keys. First two times it was the new superintendent, and I got to the door to firmly hold the deadbolt and looked through my door peep-hole, but still terrifying as I was never introduced to him and didn't know who he was, and he did not knock first. Explanation provided was that he had a mix up (twice). No idea who the person the third time was but I ran out to the hall after and they were exiting the building. Not much a landlord can do about this, this is just informational.

Pros (why 1 star instead of zero):
-Indoors.
-Never had to submit a maintenance request.
-Inclusive hydro (Except $300 yearly A/C fee, it's in the lease).
-Nice location, love Chippawa area, ROK Chicken nearby is the best. I kayak and fish in the Welland river and jog on the winding road through Legends golf course that leads to the Niagara river.
-Neighbours have been good, except the several times my packages were stolen (pre-installation of cameras).
-Interactions with landlord have been professional, albeit annoying to have only a few minutes notice prior to my apartment being shown when I was not home, however it is lawful to do so.
