Bought a house during the second phase at Cardinal Creek. I had the 1 year inspection and I showed the man the crack above my kitchen window. Ram from the window right up to the ceiling. The man blew a bunch of hot air at me talking about thermal expansion. Said it was normal and that they (Tamarack) will not entertain it anymore. Turned out I had 3 massive cracks on my foundation. Luckily it was located to one wall. Guess where the kitchen window with the crack is? Yes right on the foundation wall with all 3 cracks. I asked the man to maybe look at my foundation? NO! Thermal expansion. Eventually Tamarack hired a mold abatement company, a contractor to gut my unfinished basement, foundation specialists, engineers (they were cool). Etc etc. Cracks in foundations is a common occurrence with this company. The foundation specialist, when walking me through my exposed inner basement wall, pointed out how badly the foundation was poured and how on earth did it pass inspection? You would have no idea because it’s all covered up with insulation. Anyways they fixed that one wall. Makes me wonder what else they messed up.

I have mixed reviews. On one side they have lovely homes, great layouts and well planned neighbourhoods. I had a few weird issues before I moved in but all in all it was a positive experience. After having lived in a Tamarack community now for almost three years, I'd have to say the home is well built and of good quality. There have been very little problems thank goodness because this is where Tamarack's weakness lies. The after service, considering buying a home is the biggest purchase people make in their lives, is poor. When problems happen I have to agree with other reviewers that Tamarack has poor follow through. Two and a half years later and I'm still trying to get things fixed that were noted as deficiencies before I even moved in. And they refused to repair a garage floor that started to crumble within the first year saying it was caused by road salt! We had nothing but dirt and gravel roads here at the time and no one was salting it. Even if there had been salt, this is Canada where there is winter and road salt and where concrete outside is standard because it's durable. They couldn't explain how my neighbour's garage floors were fine but not mine. They couldn't explain how garages, sidewalks and patios all around our country are all built of concrete and are exposed to winter and salt and don't crumble like my garage floor is. They didn't even try to rationalize their decision. Common sense dictates that something is wrong here however Tamarack made it clear despite my protests, that their decision was final and I have absolutely no say . Why a company that makes so much money would argue over such a easy, minor repair is inconceivable. Some of my neighbours are having similar experiences trying to get issues resolved from years ago. Buying a house should be a happy experience not a stressful one.

We purchased a home in Poole Creek 2 years ago. We had a few issues that got resolved but the major one was our roof. It did take some time as we tried to allow repairs to the roof but after two attempts it was determined that the roof was to be scrapped and replaced. I have to say that we did need patience but it was a huge expense for the company so I understood and was very glad once they took a look at the repairs they said a new roof was the only option and got it done. Mistakes happen but how you handle them is what counts and their customer service rep Carla is amazing! I would recommend Tamarack to anyone and would build with them again for sure! We love our home!

We have been very happy with Tamarack. Both my wife and I have owned Mattamy and Minto in the past and have had our fair share of issues. Tamarack has built us a quality house. We had a home inspector for both our 30 day and one year. He found some minor things on the 30 days and virtually nothing on the one year. We love this neighboorhood (it has character and isn't just just another completely flat sub development. There are hills, nature, rocks and a gorgeous view of petrie Island). Tamarack customer service can be a bit frustrating and it does takes some time to get things fixed but they do get fixed. Having now purchased from 3 builders and viewing every builder in Orleans prior to buying Tamarack we are very satisfied. On one last note, Joy at the sales centre is great. We actually went in to buy a town and she suggested a semi (long story but it turned out great). I came to find out from a neighboor he had the same experience and was just as happy. This is a very expensive neighboorhood but worth it.

This review is posted 16 years after we took possession of our home: there is no impulse reaction here. This is a builder that will CUT ANY corner that he can possibly cut. We are constantly fixing building errors, some can be fixed, some cannot. Most of everything is faulty, from warped cabinet doors to structural failures like cracked foundation, water leaks, missing base plate insulation and more. Basically, from little things that can be fixed by a diligent home owner, to big things that cannot be fixed without major work and expense, is faulty and needs attention. After sales service is dismal to the point to they offered me money to withdraw my claim with Tarion and perform the repairs on my own. Tamarack will only address your concerns when Tarion opens a case against them. Low business ethics and customer consideration.

Upon arrival at the sales centre, we were greeted by an employee in such a way where it felt like we were back in high school getting disciplined by a teacher - Quite unprofessional and it tainted our first experience of the neighborhood. My wife and I felt bad for the Tamarack employee who views and can speak to prospective buyers of 800K+ homes in this light.
