About 15 years ago we embarked on the crazy task of building a new waterfront home in Sechelt, never having done anything like it before! Walter was our chosen architect and without him our family would certainly have missed out on the best of times here at our incredibly unique 'Beach House'! He always kept 'the family' in mind as he created plans following our wants and needs, guiding us along the path to completion. We so appreciated all his suggestions, his reasons why/why not, and keeping the final product in mind. We have him to thank for our little bit of paradise and 'holding our hands' along the journey! Taking an old impractical home and making it a modern fun engaging space was the ask of Walter and he delivered. We had an early 70s rancher that time left behind. Walter’s ideas and enthusiasm built significant direction and momentum which helped us refurbish our home into one that speaks to now and the future.

My best experience in house building/designing was working with Walter. I have a very “hands on” approach in the design process and Walter was so patient and understanding while we attained a level of compromise that rightfully leaned toward his volumes of knowledge and experience. I really appreciated his ability to rein me in with kindness and honesty while fully explaining his reasoning. We ended up with a fabulous design for our little Beach Grove waterfront lot that perfectly suited the look and feel I envisioned. In addition our builder opined their praise for the level of detail on his drawings that is rarely seen today. Walter is a gem and I value the relationship we attained and couldn’t recommend him any higher.

We had the very good fortune to work with Walter to design and provide the plans for our retirement home in Powell River BC. My wife and I had very clear ideas about what we were looking for in the home and Walter took to the time to understand our wants and needs as well as how we would be using each space. The thing we really appreciated was that Walter always considered our "vision" of the home but maintained a practical view of costs/benefits at all times in the design. Largely as a result of Walter's patience, attention to detail and his willingness to balance design aesthetics, practicality and costs - we just moved into our new dream home and could not be happier with the results. Although we haven't gone ahead with the build yet, Walter has designed a new house for our property that we absolutely love.
He was very great at listening to our ideas and putting them down in the designs, while being cognizant of how different ideas would impact the overall build cost.
We greatly appreciate him for his skills, as well as being a really nice person to work with.

Walter Nailed It!!
Not having worked with an architect previously I didn’t know what to expect. I need not to have worried. Walter was very easy to work with. He listened attentively to my thoughts and ideas and translated them into concrete plans. When, on a few occasions, Walter didn’t quite understand what I was asking for, he again listened attentively and once again managed to translate my thoughts and goals into reality. Walter’s innovative ideas were very helpful. He came up with ideas I hadn’t even considered. Walter’s final plans achieved what I had been
hoping for and then some. The final result was perfect! I highly recommend Walter if you are looking for an architect.
