We've been attending the SBT theater plays for a few years. The quality of their productions, creative team, performers, graphic design and administration is top notch.
I love the creativity, passion and attention to detail they put in everything they do, including their acting classes and summer camps. I'm very happy to have such an amazing theatre company in Calgary.

[Detailed review being drafted concerning lack of forthrightness and concern by camp leader and leadership. When brought to their attention went on the offense, simply table turned and absolutely did not acknowledge the inconsistency and lack of appropriate concern. Horrible experience after having a good experience once previously on a PD day with completely different people.]

2019 review: 42 years and going strong. Fabulous performance of The Giver. My daughter takes voice lessons there and simply loves the program.

2024 Edit: still love this place. My daughter did her first non-school audition (got called back but didn't get the part, still had an amazing experience) I appreciate the way they handle kids auditions... they audition but not for specific parts. It reduces the sometimes toxic competition and bitterness that can be associated with trying out for parts. Daughter is now 16 and will be performing in Singers at Sunset which raises funds for the subsidized program she took at the time of this original review. I feel like we have come full circle.

My husband and I took our granddaughter to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang yesterday for her 7th birthday. What a fantastic show!!
All the actors were fantastic! The singing was superb and the dancing fairly well done! The staff were pleasant and helpful; offering to set aside our granddaughter's partially eaten cupcake at the end of intermission so she could finish it after the show. ( no food allowed in the theatre). We even met a few actors in the lobby just before heading home. What a wonderful experience for a first time theatre experience for her!
I have been a volunteer at theatr Calgary for many years and have seen many shows. This production was at least as good as some of the plays I have seen there!! Thank you Storybook theatre.The only drawback really was the sound. The music too loud which made it difficult to hear speaking. That really should be addressed for future performances!

I was expecting something more family friendly, being The Storybook Theatre. The voices of the cast were INCREDIBLE!! I was disappointed in the Musical.
