Rave to SAVE - I had to make the decision to put my beloved puppy down Wednesday July 2nd, 2025. I could not get her into our regular vet or a few others in town. I called SAVE and was able to get in anytime that day when I was ready. For this being my first time having to do this, I was treated with nothing but respect, dignity and love. I was not just another number, I was not rushed to get in and get out. I was able to stay as long as I needed before, during and after. I would recommend SAVE to anyone.

I've heard great things about this place and I know some family and friends who have come here before so I added it to my emergency numbers. I have a newer kitten for the first time in my life and she got into flowers she should not have been around and i know that, and the receptionist made sure i knew my cat could die of kidney failure, she really freaked me out telling me i have to pack her up this second and drive to save in okotoks from highriver but she suggested to go to Calgary because she will have to be hospitalized for atleast a night. Long story short, after calling poison control, the very calm and nice lady on the other end explained my kitten might have a upset tummy for a day but they helped me to calm down and told me to stay put before I drive and I did not have to leave and pack my cat up in a hurry at all, yet alone leave my home. I get the emergency of some situations the receptionist just recommends solutions, I'm not sure how much training / experience this person had but she even seemed to give me attitude when I was crying. Her whole attitude changed when a doctor came to the phone to speak to me. I definitely won't be here I'll be taking the extra 15 minutes to get into Calgary. I adore my baby and the phone call made me feel like the worst cat mom after a honest mistake that will never happen again.

I really do understand emergencies are stressful but shouldn't the receptionist on the other side have a sense of calmness. I wonder if because the call is recorded it can be listened over, it was about 320pm

I can’t rave enough about how well my cat and our family was treated recently at SAVE.
My cat had some major concerns, we were seen relatively quickly and felt that I was given the best information possible to make decisions I needed with them being mindful of my budget. All the staff were very compassionate and can tell they love what they do and strive to help where they can.

I have to say that I am so surprised by the negative reviews and comments about SAVE, especially around lack of compassion and empathy. I had a wonderful experience at this clinic today with my dog Rocky who was experiencing vomiting and diarrhea. My pet was well taken care of, the vet Dr Courtney McNeilly and the vet techs were all so kind and sweet with my boy. I felt very informed as to the potential causes, risks, and options to take care of him so I could make a decision for his care. As a bonus, the wait time was reasonable given it was a Saturday, and the bill didn't bankrupt me. Thank you SAVE.

Had to bring in my middle aged cat to SAVE a month ago... Unfortunately he did not make it.

The reason I'm writing this review is because I almost didn't come here because of the negative reviews I read, but the staff was professional and compassionate throughout the process.

Price gouging! Brought my dog in respiratory distress. They assessed and made it clear they couldn’t diagnose without an up sale of tests based on what I was willing to spend! My dog is 16 old and has been in perfect health. I had to decide between 4 tests based on what I could afford! After $850 worth of X-rays and sending them in to a specialist because the vet couldn’t figure it out I was sent home with antibiotics and cough syrup . The vet told me she didn’t think this was the best course of treatment but was the only thing she could do without more expensive tests! Total scam!! They dont care about your pet only about how much they can squeeze out of you!!

SAVE is absolutely amazing!! The staff and vets are so knowledgeable and so so amazing. My pup Goose was in a tragic accident, and unfortunately had to have a leg amputation at SAVE. They were quick and efficient and we were lucky enough to take Goose home in 2 days because of the care they provided to him. The vet walked us through everything and was very diligent and sweet. They regularly updated me on Goose’s progress throughout his stay and they took the best care of Goose. I can’t thank the staff enough at SAVE for how amazing they were to my puppy. I would highly recommend this place for any emergency services for your animal. Thank you SAVE for saving my puppy, we appreciate you forever.

SAVE has always been a great clinic and I've found the vets and technicians super friendly, through, and compassionate, however, the gals at reception were quite cold and standoffish. Not only to me but to other pet owners. Customer service goes a long way even if it's only a smile.
