I hired Howard Leung for the design of my house. He sold himself as an architect but as I found out afterwards, the Architectural Institute of BC (AIBC) has had various complaints lodged against him for misrepresenting his professional registration (that is, he’s not a licensed architect and you as a client are not protected since he doesn’t have to follow professional conduct rules). Howard totally botched the project management of my house design and had no idea the Sunshine Coast Regional District had updated their bylaws for residential dwellings thus costing me lost time and thousands of dollars extra in design costs. I trusted him to help me design my house and he treated me like an ATM and kept charging me for things that didn’t add up. He often made mistakes on invoices which required us to be very careful about double checking for errors and extra charges. Run far away from Howard and his mismanagement.
