I recently had a 112 foot waterproofing job done by RCC Hamilton and I could not have been more pleased. The crew that worked on my property were punctual every day, worked their butts off when they were here and were very respectful of my property, as well as my neighbor's. They answered any questions I had on the process and kept me informed if I was going to be inconvenienced at all. I would highly recommend RCC - a definite 10+

Great Workmanship, But Disappointing Experience

We had exterior waterproofing done on our split-level home with a block foundation. The on-site crew from RCC Waterproofing was excellent—hardworking, respectful, and the finished work looks to be of high quality. However, the overall experience left me disappointed due to poor communication, lack of transparency, and unclear guidance.

I was upfront from the beginning that I knew very little about waterproofing and was relying on the company to guide me. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. For example, they waterproofed a section of the home that sits on a concrete slab and has no basement. Later, I found out our neighbours - whose home is nearly identical - did not waterproof that portion. When I raised this, I was told he just did what I asked and held no responsibility, despite me expressing early on that I was relying on their expertise to keep costs down. I was later told that what they did was in fact best practice, and he was confused why I would question it. I left the conversation feeling blamed for something I didn’t fully understand.

We also discussed that the west wall needed to be hand dug, which justified a higher price. But during the work, an excavator was used for more than half the wall. No cost adjustment was offered, and multiple attempts to get clarity went, initially unanswered (I did receive a call from the rep weeks later after I emailed the president).

I acknowledge that my lack of knowledge likely contributed to the confusion, but I expected a professional company to help guide me through the process—not just follow instructions without offering advice. The finished product is solid, but if you’re considering RCC Waterproofing, make sure you do your own research, understand your home’s structure, and get multiple quotes. Don’t rely on being walked through it.

Thanks to Jeffrey and Sam and the crew for completing the waterproofing job around our house. The quality of work is why we came back to RCC again after getting the first half of our house completed in 2017.

Most importantly, there was an incident with some of the site safety materials that resulted in an insurance claim to one of our vehicles due to the heavy winds during the job. Although this was a fairly significant inconvenience for us, RCC paid our deductible which is VERY commendable in this day and age. So, anyone considering them should know this is how they treat their customers with an unfortunate circumstance. This is also the reason I am leaving a review now, so the small things do help.

When it rains, I don’t lay awake worrying anymore! We have a finished basement, with a block foundation. Water was coming in, but we couldn’t tell where. Mike met me at the house and explained the process in detail. He was very professional, and willing to answer any questions I had. When the crew arrived at the house they were very friendly and hardworking. The worksite was kept very clean and the work was completed on time. The crew needed to enter the house to install a sump pump and did so with minimal disruption. We are extremely happy with the job and would highly recommend RCC Waterproofing!

We had a leak coming in the back room, and we called a bunch of waterproofing companies. Some of them didn't even return our calls, others wanted us to pay for a quote. When we contacted RCC Waterproofing, Jeffery M. called us back the same day, and booked an appointment for us the next day. His inspection and quote were free, and he explained to us that our issue wasn't even a waterproofing issue, it was a plumbing issue. So even though we didn't even go with RCC Waterproofing to fix the issue, we were really happy with the patience and knowledge that Jeffery had; there was no pressure from him to do work that we didn't need to do. Very happy.

On September 11, 2024 a crew from RCC waterproofing came to our house to do interior waterproofing as well as installing a sump pump. When I phoned RCC in July after having water in our furnace room the company sent a representative out within a few days. Jeffery Martin came out to speak with us about our water issues and how to solve them. He gave us 2 options and provided valuable input into which option served our needs best. Several other companies I had contacted all wanted a fee just to give us an estimate. Jeff came out and gave us a free estimate as well as a reasonable timeline to complete the work. There were only 2 men working but they were able to complete the job in one day. They were very polite and would let us know when they went for lunch as well as their timeline till completion. Although they had to break up concrete there was no dust lingering. Jesse and his crew member did an exceptional job of cleaning up. I would recommend RCC to anyone with similar water issues.

I received an email from RCC this week asking for a positive review. This is nearly 8 months after they completed the work.
I can say that majority of the work was done well, I'm still not happy with part of it.
During the digging they removed supporting bricks from my foundation under the front door. Now the large concrete sill under the front door is loose and I require another contractor to build it back in properly after the ground has settled 100%.
While the work was being done I mentioned this to the salesman who told me, that is my responsibility to fix and not theirs. Not their fault whatsoever as per the salesman. Even though they removed the bricks without even looking at what they were doing there.
They did also have to come back a few days after the job. As they had forgotten to reconnect the sump pump properly and a large hole had opened up on the side of the house.
Overall the work is good. Still not happy about having to hire another contractor to correct issues caused by RCC.
