We recently had the pleasure of working with Rae-Dius Construction for the complete renovation of our family cottage. From the exterior to the interior, Joel’s team exceeded our expectations. They took the time to understand our vision for the cottage and brought it to life with their exceptional craftsmanship.

The attention to detail was impressive, and the finished product exceeded our expectations. The renovation included two new decks, exterior siding, windows, and a completely remodeled interior main floor and basement. Joel’s team was skilled, professional, and respectful of the historical significance of our cottage as it has been in the family for 50+ years and treated it with the care and attention it deserved. We felt confident in their ability to handle the renovation, knowing that they would approach it with the same level of care and respect that we would have. They were also able to maintain the original charm while also modernizing and updating it.

Throughout the renovation process, Joel was always available to answer our questions and address any concerns we had. He was punctual and worked efficiently to complete the project on time and within budget.

Any unforeseen issues that arose during the renovation were brought to our attention by Joel and addressed appropriately and reasonably. Joel was willing to come back and finish small jobs that needed to be done, even after the project was completed. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a dream of owning a cottage. After almost 3 years of property hunting, my husband and I came across the most beautiful piece of land with an 80-year-old cabin on it. Together with my step-dad who was an expert contractor, we came up with a plan to tear down the existing cabin and re-build our dream cottage. Shortly after our project began, we were given some devastating news. My step-dad was diagnosed with cancer and soon after he passed away. The thought of continuing this project without him was almost unbearable. We seriously considered selling the property…and then we met Joel. He listened to our story with empathy and understanding, took our vision and together we created a plan. Throughout the process Joel regularly checked in with us; acknowledging our worries and providing reassurance when we needed it. We felt that he was just as emotionally invested in this project as we were, and that took a huge weight off our shoulders. We put our trust in him, just as we would have with my step-dad. When we made the drive up to our property to see the final product, Joel and his son were waiting anxiously for us. We did our final walk though and to say we were blown away would be a complete understatement. The attention to detail, craftsmanship and dedication Joel and his team put into this project is unmatched. For the first time in our lives, we were completely speechless. Joel created the most breathtakingly beautiful space for our family to enjoy for generations to come. We know there is a reason Joel was brought into our lives and we will never be able to thank him and his team, his son, and Lisa for making this project such an enjoyable experience. Joel stepped in on relatively short notice to take on our kitchen, powder room and main stairway gut and redo.
Joel and his crew were always very professional and responsive to all questions we asked. The worksite was always left tidy and clean. Glitches encountered were also addressed and dealt with to our satisfaction.

Rae-Dius Construction added a 2 storey, 400 square foot addition to our home which included all aspects of the project from obtaining the building certificate to final inspection. It required provision of a full range of construction services including pouring foundations, electrical, en-suite washroom installation and all interior and exterior finishing. The workmanship was excellent and Joel and staff were great to work with and responsive to any requests made. An honest and dependable company that you can trust to give a fair quote and complete the job in an excellent manner. At a later time we also had Rae-dius add a carport to our home and again it was completed effectively, on-time and within the quoted budget.

Rae-Dius also refurbished stairs and installed glass railings. We were very happy with the quality of the work and Joel was more than reasonable with extras required throughout the project. We are very pleased with our completed renovation.

We worked with Joel a number of years ago and he was completely unresponsive. We tried for months to get work done that he promised but he never responded. We eventually had to hire someone else to finish the work. I would never use him again. Buyers beware!
