Pickles Home Exteriors installed 7 triple-pane windows (casement and awning) and a patio door at our house. Their pricing was reasonable for the quality and service. I chose them based on their strong Google reviews, and I’m glad I did. The installation team was professional and efficient, and Crystal, the Office Coordinator, was patient and responsive to all our questions. The work was done well, and the windows look great. I’ve already recommended them to friends and colleagues, and I plan to hire them again when I replace both entrance doors. I highly recommend Pickles Home Exteriors as one of the best window and door companies in the K-W area.

I wanted to be happy with this installation.
I have an old house and plan to replace all windows and a door. I started with the windows on my porch, hoping this project would start a trusting relationship. After getting few quotes, I went with Pickles based on the quotes and after speaking with my neighbours(Pickles recently installed their windows). The invoice arrived with a different price. I questioned it and was told the quote was seriously under-priced. Ok, mistakes happen. The quote had seemed very low. I accepted a discount they offered and moved forward.
There was no communication with the installation crew. After the windows were installed I noted a couple of issues.

The interior was finished off without much thought.
I've done some trim work so the uneven cove moulding bugged me. I figured the blinds would cover it and if it still was an issue, I'd fix it. Not a big deal but if they had added a couple pieces of extension, all the moulding could be installed at the same level.

I was told that "our team did not alter it but noted stiffness when they arrived". This is not true and I supplied the office with photos of the door showing only new wear on the painted edge of door.
Pickles insisted that they did not make any modifications to the door and only offered advice on how to fix this. Basically re-installing the door. It is obvious that the window installation shifted the top portion of the door frame, causing it to interfere with the door.

The aluminum they capped my door with(I had agreed to extra fee to cover it as well) looked shoddy. They had stopped above the handrail and "finished" the underside by stuffing in fibreglass insulation covered with caulking.
After sending photos, Pickles agreed that "it wasn't the right solution for this situation"
I removed the railing so they could clad the entire frame. (They hadn't asked for the railings to be removed and I didn't think I had to offer)
The team came unannounced while I was at work and reclad the door. So I couldn't show them the binding issue. The aluminum looks much better but there is a gap where the aluminum pulled away from the caulking. They offered to return and repair this with a couple of solutions. Then I found the empty tube of caulking left in my mailbox.
Thanks for that. The mailbox has a lid so it was intentional. Very professional.
I am done with this company. I paid the invoice and heard nothing further.
I will have to start a new search when I replace the rest of my windows.

P.S. The windows themselves are ok.
I later realized that instead of removing the hooks for my blinds, they just cut them off.

A HUGE thank you to the Pickles team! The lovely gentlemen at Pickles have installed three exterior doors and 16 windows in the massive rehab of a 200YO farmhouse. We were very invested in preserving the timeless look and getting our finishes “just right” and the Pickles team were the perfect people for the job. The attention to detail was off the charts - from ensuring that the grid pattern was exactly right and customized on every single window, finding a caulk that could match the door colours exactly, and helping us do the project in multiple phases so we could utilize government programs, the Pickles team was on board to do everything necessary to make the renovation exactly what we wanted.

It is of particular note that this is the happiest, most polite crew I have ever worked with. These men come to work with smiles on their faces, have a great attitude, and clearly take pride in doing excellent work. Jordan and his crew were a pleasure to have on site, and I won’t hesitate to call them for anything I need in the future!
