Short post -
Illegally laid off, put in a tough situation. 0 help. After being told by management we would be there until the fall, come may we were hit with a random email stating this is your layoff one week into our days off. So without proper notice, we were all rightfully upset. Then to find out they didn't follow site protocols during they layoff was a dagger. Personally, I was told it was due to the unfortunate nature of construction and nothing about myself as a worker. Then I was told months later it was because they needed "the right crew" as they kept on people they shouldn't have. After a long, painful, stressful few months. They finally "paid us out". Just kidding, they screwed us even more. They paid us for hours worked and even taxed us for those "ghost hours" they made up on the stub. They claimed afterwards it was a tax write off for them. Hoping to keep the indigenous and first nation away. Not the case, we are all about to sue for the wrong pennecon has done. Being blacklisted from a company for their wrong doing isn't right, nobody should be afraid of doing this. Especially in a situation where everyone knows what happened. And for those who don't, now they will. This is a summarized post. Very short and under detailed compared to how easily this could be explained vocally. One 10 minute phone call and I can explain this better along with 100x more detail. Also names and messages were saved. This will be posted against pennecon everywhere I see necessary. Still here? Thanks for making it this fair into my vent post. After dealing with hr and getting absoutley nowhere, it's time to go public everywhere before myself and old workers sue. I had nothing against this company until this happened. I enjoyed it with them very much. However, from the outcome and the headache they've put us through since May 4th 2024, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Just for the pure fact that this can happen to you. It's not worth the stress
