We hired Katie and Mearle to re-design and install a new front entry-way and driveway for our house, and we are very pleased with the results. Katie had a great vision for the project from the beginning, and Mearle, Jen and Sheena were awesome people to have working here. Pacific Ridge Landscapes recently completed for us a redesign and installation of our small seaside garden and patio. We liked the design Merle and Katie prepared, and it was amazing to watch their young crew bring it to life. Jen, Karys, Ryan and Cait worked as an efficient and amiable team.
Everyone stayed in touch with us throughout the project, frequently soliciting our input and patiently responding to our questions. We were thrilled with the results -- a porcelain tile patio, a garden with balanced and contrasting colors, textures and heights, an invisible irrigation system, a pathway winding through the plantings, and accent lighting.

Last year we bought a new home in Sidney and while the home was lovely, the yard was not what we wanted. We contacted a local, boutique landscaping firm called Pacific Ridge Landscapes Ltd. We were so pleased with the magic they created in our back yard. Out with the old, preserving a couple of heritage fruit trees, and in with the new soil, tiles, plants, irrigation, lighting and so much more. They truly worked in partnership with us from concept to design to implementation. They ‘got us’ so well.

As a matter of fact, we loved the backyard so much, we asked them to turn our front yard into another masterpiece. And WOW, it is even more than we dreamed possible. The design was customized to build on and continue the backyard, with additional elements that tied into the house itself, including gorgeous lighted arbors.

And as if this wasn’t enough, being travellers, we asked if they would be willing to design a program to do vacation checks for us (as the team is already there supporting the maintenance of our outdoors) and they said yes! So inside and outside are covered.

We can’t speak more highly of the dream team of Katie, Merle and all the team members we’ve dealt with both in the office and the team doing our yard. The crew were so amazing, helpful, polite, answered all our questions and were very respectful of our wishes and our property, we trusted them 100%. They were all very professional, prompt, creative, easy to work with and the owners even have a Havinese, like we do.. it just doesn’t get any better than that, right!?

The Pacific Ridge Landscapes team began working on our property in the summer of 2019 and have been helping us gradually transform our fairly wild, somewhat neglected property into a gorgeous, colourful and bountiful paradise. We can’t say enough good things about Corey and the careful attention he gives our property whether its performing routine maintenance or working on specific landscaping projects. He has many amazing ideas for making the property that much better, and has a very ecologically-based approach - being mindful of removing invasive species the team encounters, keeping nutrients in the system through retention of native species wood chips, and taking the extra steps to safeguard our sensitive Garry oak/Arbutus ecosystem. Katie took much care in helping us select plants that are gorgeous, complement the native surrounding forest, and are deer-resistant. The whole team are exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, positive, and sincere. When many of them were on site to do all the plantings, including Katie and Merle, it felt like they were one big happy family. They obviously love their work! We are so grateful to have the PRL team working with us to make our home gorgeous, and we would highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent landscaping and garden maintenance services.

Many thanks to Katie, Merle and the staff at Pacific Ridge Landscapes Ltd. From assistance with the design to the completed project my wife and I are very happy with the outcome and process involved with preparing our ground level patio for renewal.

The previous 27’ by 16’ patio of our two-storey townhouse has been here since the original construction in 1982 and needed renewal. We also wanted to ensure proper drainage of the patio area as the rains of recent years had us wondering if the perimeter drain system could be counted on to move all of the water away from the building. The previous patio did not have a proper slope, altered as it was from years of tree roots and settling, and so the water was reverse flowing to the concrete perimeter wall.

Pacific Ridge had the miniature excavator, power loader, bins, removal truck and expertise to remove the 12 cubic yards of existing material dispose of it, lay down landscape cloth and bring in gravel, screened leveling material and all the pavers and stacking block for the raised garden bed.

Merle used a laser level to sight our lines and establish grade. This is a very important process in civil work and provides a far superior end product compared to string line levels. The work was well executed over a few days and the end product is very appealing.

Merle, Katie and their crew were very professional and prepared so a big thanks goes out to all of you for your hard work.
