We hired Ottawa Building & Foundation Repair to renovate the old earthen basement of our Heritage property in Centretown Ottawa. I was impressed!

It was important for us to pick a company we could work closely with, as we were renovating the whole house. From transperent pricing to quality workmanship to practical experience to positive attitudes... Nathan Sally (the owner), and his team consistently went above & beyond to help us complete our project.

* Dig down earthen basement several feet (including bedrock!)
* Shore up existing foundation with a concrete curb
* New steel I-beams & footings, flush-mounted for headroom
* New basement drainage tile & sump pit
* New concrete floor
* Vapour barrier & under-slab rigid foam insulation
* Replaced old cast-iron DWV plumbing with new ABS + backflow valve
* Successfully passed city inspections

They have completed several projects for us, including several foundation repairs to our homes in Ottawa. I just want to add to the old review. Today, December 25, 2022, is our second Christmas with the property damaged by Ottawa Building & Foundation Repair Inc. and work not finished, and some of what has been done it continues mostly to deteriorate. I wish all of you, but especially the victims of contractors like I am, Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas! We try to have a Merry Christmas, but it is hard, it is very hard not only on Christmas time but every day. Even our lawyer did not make them repair the damages and finish their work to our satisfaction and we lost money paying the lawyer. I do not care if the owner of this company disagrees. I have pictures and more to prove everything I say is true.

Dear fellow customers. From the bottom of our hearts we would like to advise you to please be very careful before choosing Ottawa Building & Foundation Repairs Inc.. We hired them last year (2021) in October. About 80% of their job is poorly done; some of their workers were not respectful. The owner of the company did not allow us to watch the team working on our property. I was verbally abused by the owner over the phone to let the team work. It was traumatizing and humiliating. He apologized after few weeks. They damaged our property and they promised to repair the damages. They imposed on us other materials than mentioned in the contract (estimate) saying that they did not find something else. While we were waiting for them to come and finish their job and repair the damages on our property, they were ignoring us but we saw them coming to our neighbor to present their business for new contract. They did not properly clean after them. On December 8, 2021 they promised to present a plan indicating the next steps to properly finish the work and repair the damages. On December 8, 2021, the owner of the company told us to not send letters anymore. Today, May 5, 2022, we are still waiting for them. They ignored us from the beginning. We are living a nightmare since the end of October 2021 when they started the work on our property. Grading, rear entrance landing.

Several times now I have needed the assistance of Ottawa Foundation & Building Repair… they are always on time, always courteous and did an amazing job on each project with a fair price!

Chipping cement and patching floors is HARD work! But these guys never complain and the Owner Nathan is amazing to deal with! 5 stars all around! 👌🏼

Having water leaking into your basement is a pain (and a few other adjectives) so i wanted it fixed right. I had a number of companies provide estimates and went with Ottawa Building & Foundation for a few reasons. They all had good reviews and i am sure would be fine, however, during the inspection, Nathan noticed several things that i hadn't seen nor any of the other estimators did as well, so it was with this initial review gave me confidence. Partnered with the great warranty, i knew it would be fixed right. My repair was quite a challenge for the team (a few cave ins), but they were always positive, hardworking and good representatives of the company. They kept my property clean and i am very satisfied with the results, and would recommend Ottawa Building & Foundation without any hesitation.

Please tell your drivers to be more careful and look before switching lanes when driving on the highway (ESPECIALLY during rush hour). I was nearly side swiped on my way to work this morning and then watched the driver cutoff another person as well. Not a good look in the company car.

This company has caused my friend, Tatiana Dinu, severe stress. Pertaining to a comment left by the owner of the company to Tatiana’s original review, I disagree that a language barrier is the reason for the misunderstanding. Tatiana is extremely coherent and clear in her communication, and this is one of her strongest traits. I cannot believe that even in 2023, people use language barrier and accents as an excuse to get out of doing the work that they were trusted with! Awful awful awful! I will not refer anyone to this company.
