Gwen has been SUCH a big help to me at Orillia Pools. They didn't build my pool but when I came to them needing help, they went out of their way to help me with a number of issues and fit me in (during the busy season of pool openings). They are clearly knowledgeable and experienced in the business and they won't upsell you on unnecessary chemicals or complicated maintenance/water testing. I will continue to use them now and appreciate their friendly attitude each time I show up.

I came to this pool store after speaking on the telephone with a very helpful and polite fellow named Cam. I decided to try this pool store only because we are in a heat wave and the store I exclusively deal with was closed. The young ladies working at the store are very polite and helpful. The older lady with the long bleached blonde hair and crappy perm is rude and rotten. She treats staff and customers with a condescending and patronizing attitude. I witnessed her undermining the young ladies in front of customers while they were assisting customers. She had her back to the counter while she was running a water sample for me, and the two young ladies were assisting customers at the front of the counter. The older lady was listening to what the younger ladies were telling customers and she would turn her head over her shoulder and dismiss the information the younger ladies were providing to customers, and would insert her own information still with her back to the customers. I knew within 10 seconds of encountering her that it was going to be an unpleasant interaction. I explained to her my situation. I told her I was there to get a sample because I'm having water clarity issues. I ran through my recent water test results with her and provided her the paper copy to let her know what I had recently put in the pool. When I gave her the information she argued it, challenged it and was insulting. I have her verbal information, such as water temperature and she was dismissive and said it didn't matter, then proceeded to complain about brand of chemicals that I use and indicated that all pool chemicals are the same but Dazzle and Prestiva are a more expensive brand. She even went so far as to tell me that I'm being upsold bags of salt by $20 a bag because of the brand of salt that the pool store I use supplies. Definitely seems like she has a vendetta against any other pool stores, but she's not really doing a good job in terms of trying to recruit customers to her store. I tried ending my interaction with her on three different occasions because her attitude and negativity were making me feel icky and each time I asked her if she could just charge me for the water sample so I could go. Each time I asked her she would continue to plead her case or argue with me. I told her I didn't want to talk anymore. I just wanted to pay for the sample so I could end the interaction as quickly as possible, at which point she told me it was free and that I could leave. I will never set foot in the store again. This lady is negative, aggressive and makes interactions very comfortable. I feel sorry for the staff that work with her.

Staff was absolutely fantastic. Very quick to replace our pool pump. Get us back up and running much appreciated. Highly recommend.

I have appreciated not only the excellent workmanship that you provided in helping us to create our backyard oasis, but as equally important the excellent customer service you have always provided to us over the past three years since it was installed. We are first time pool owners after recently buying a house with a pool. We paid a different pool company $$$ to open & perform an inspection but our pool looked terrible. I went to Orillia Pools on the recommendation of several colleagues. Gwen was very knowledgeable and quickly determined the issues. She told me what to do and gave me written instructions with steps to follow. Within days our pool was clean, clear and ready for swimming!!! The customer service is always amazing and I will never go anywhere else for my pool needs.

We got sucked into buying a spa in Barrie. Big regret. Looking at some of the negative reviews for Orillia Pools, it could be worse. We have had quite the ordeal which I won't go into here. That said, Orillia Pools has been patient and informative with me as I navigate this journey with my first hot tub. Every single staff member has been polite, friendly, and informed to help me. I will continue to buy my spa chemicals here moving forward. Nice show room with lots of items.

Where do I start. Tried to get them to come out to my property, many many times. Months go by. We get an apology email. They come out, sends a quote, I say when can you start, owner shows up, looks at the job, starts working on it and then abandons the job, never to be seen or heard from again. I go in person to the store, i saw the owner rush out of the showroom to avoid me, was told he would be there on the weekend, never to be seen or heard from again. I am a permanently disabled person. This company was supposed to perform the work they agreed to. Do not engage this local business. I assume business was too good during COVID and after. Good luck locating a decent pool business in Orillia.

I want to thank Orillia Pools for their diligence in building us a fantastic pool. Mark and his team are excellent at what they do. They communicated with us, regularly, and addressed our questions, promptly. Mark’s experience in building/designing pools was integral in adding both entertainment and value to our home. He offered suggestions about placement, decking and landscaping options, while being upfront about pricing. Gwen has also been an excellent resource, optimizing our water chemistry while being personable, professional and willing to help in any way she can. We had some great conversations in the store, and I appreciate her insights into the different products she offers. My wife and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend them moving forward.

I would also like to thank Orillia Landscaping for their contributions to the hardscaping completed around our pool. Nate and his crew are highly skilled and efficient, while maintaining integrity and care for the end result. They are professional and always maintained a clean and safe working environment. Very impressed!
