My review will continue the perfect sweep of 5 star reviews for Nanaimo Excavation at #44. I had two 50 year old cement driveways torn up and prepped by Nanaimo Excavation for a concrete contractor (Double D), and I could not be more pleased. I have worked with a lot of construction and maintenance trades over the years and can recognize those that truly care about the work they are doing - and this describes Lorant and Brent. If I didn't know better, I would think they were prepping their own driveways - "good enough" is not in their vocabulary - it has to be perfect. They dealt with the city to ensure agreement on the driveway connection to the street; talked to the neighbors to make sure they were onside with the noise and access issues; and checked with me each day to ensure I was in alignment with their progress and the drainage and design improvements they were making. Overall prep work was about 4 weeks - 2 weeks for each driveway and included deconstruction of the old driveways, digging out the old base material, replacement and compaction of 10" of new sub-base, installation of drainage lines, forming, and laying the rebar. The layout was so perfect that the concrete contractor was able to lay 40 m3 of concrete in 8 hours total with no concerns or hold-ups. Nanaimo Excavation returned the next day and stripped the forms and integrated the driveways back into the existing landscaping. I could not ask for a better experience than what I had with Nanaimo Excavation

We recently needed to have the poly b water line replaced from the city water meter into our home. Lorant’s company, Nanaimo Excavation Ltd. was recommended to us by John B. Plumbing.
We couldn’t have been more impressed by their professionalism, efficiency, & punctuality! They were extremely meticulous & respectful, & did an outstanding job. Once they were finished working, they restored our driveway & lawn back to nearly original. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company & crew! I can't express enough how impressed we were with Lorant and Nanaimo Excavation. We contacted them to quote on a relatively minor job compared to what they're normally up to, but Lorant was quickly in touch with us and came for a site visit. His solution to a somewhat tricky catch basin retrofit in an existing driveway turned out better than we could have ever hoped for, and right on budget. Lorant and Brent from Naniamo Excavation were recommended through John G Plumbing Inc. to excavate and cut into my driveway and garage as part of of our whole house “Poly B” water piping replacement project. I cannot say enough about the professionalism and work ethic this company and these hard working folks had in the execution of this work. They showed up on time and as per previous site visit regards scope had all the documentation for existing in ground services identified so they could confidently stat excavating the trench for the new main water line from the water meter in the front yard into the warm zone location in the garage. Let’s be honest even with a bobcat and attachment this is a great deal of hand and shovel work along with concrete saw and jackhammer work into the garage in 26degC temperatures. They started at 9Am and did not leave until 9:15pm when the new main water line was run, connected and the excavation all backfilled, pathway refilled and cleaned up as if they had never (almost anyway 😂) been there. These are honest hardworking folks who care about the quality of the service they provide, I have no previous connection to there company and am just a home owner who needed the poly B piping replaced and was extremely happy with the service provided. My yard looked a little like a WW1 trench 6hrs after they started but by the time they left almost looked like they where never there. Thanks for all your hard work.

Lorant and crew removed a couple of old concrete pads, formed and prepped for a large curved patio, two smaller pads for sheds, and front walkway to our house. They also excavated and installed a 100' long French Drain to help deal with site water management. This is the third time we’ve hired Nanaimo Excavation, and once again, they did an outstanding job! This time, we had them redo our driveway, install a channel drain, and landscaping in the front yard.
