Called Monty’s Plumbing around 11:00 am on a Wednesday and he had a team at our house by 3:30 that afternoon and replaced our water heater with a top notch Bradford water heater. No problems and no mess. They were done by 5:30 and we were extremely happy. Thanks Monty.

Our 13 year old hot water tank quit working so I had to find someone to install a new one. I phoned a few companies but when I spoke to Monty I just got a real good vibe from him. He was able to send Josh by that afternoon to install a new one. Josh was very efficient and explained everything to me. I would highly recommend his services to anyone. I was billed $1,432.20 for what turned out to be a short from the humidifier to the furnace. Furnace shut down on the evening of Sunday, December 27th. Called Monty’s on the morning of Monday, December 28th as I wanted to support local business. Tech was responsive, friendly and seemed knowledgeable but in total it took over 6 hours from start to finish for him to figure out the problem was a short in the humidifier. I was charged an extra $100 for the original service call for it being a stat holiday even though it wasn’t. I was charged $889 plus tax for the tech to go to Calgary to pick up a circuit board for the furnace even though the invoice states that the circuit board was not the problem. I was even present with the tech when he originally replaced the circuit board and tested it. He told me that the board wasn’t the problem at that time and that I wouldn’t be billed for the time or cost associated with getting a new board. He discovered the real problem when he directly connected the humidifier to the board and it blew a fuse. The short was discovered as again stated right on the invoice and the humidifier was disconnected from the furnace and it worked fine. Contacted Monty to see if he would be willing to work out a fair price but he said everything on the invoice was justified. I was more than happy to pay the extra charge for the stat holiday and for the actual work done. Apparently unplugging a faulty humidifier from a furnace costs over $1,400 now. Obviously not recommending this company to anyone.

A follow up to my review. Monty reached out to me and we hashed out a more amicable bill for services rendered. I do appreciate Monty taking the time to discuss the entire bill with me in detail. There was definite miscommunication between the tech and I and that is an area for improvement. I still can’t recommend this company based on my experience but I am not as jaded as I was with the first review.

We have called on Monty's Plumbing many times over the years. Monty and his staff are always courteous, honest and helpful.
In recent years they have replaced a toilet, sink, done furnace maintenance, found and repaired a small leak inside the wall, etc.
We just had a new furnace and hot water tank installed by Monty's Plumbing. Monty took the time to explain our options (maintaining vs replacing, etc.) We are happy with the choices we made.
If you have any issues Monty will work with you to make them right!

I really appreciate the perseverance they showed, and their great professionalism. Very easy to deal with, very friendly and quick response time.
