Pretty bad experience. My wife and I walked in the sales office, no one seems to be even willing to greet, smile or say hello.
I approached the person to ask a few questions about the model home, he was staring sideways, tiled his head as he answers my question - it was very weird and have manners issues even.
The whole 3mins exchange DID NOT give me any personable nor welcoming connection.
These people are like snobs who are so stuck up, as if they are superior.
This sale office is in barrhaven, and seriously do not recommend anyone to invest your future with this office or the service here.

Much delayed review. Home was purchased beginning of COVID and was actually closed on time without delay. Some minor issues in the home that needed to corrected. Sorted out with warranty team and was done in a timely manner. Home built to standards.

Stay FAR FAR away from Minto. This company is awful. You’ll be buying a home just to cry in it all day if you chose to go with Minto. The quality of the homes are terrible. That’s because they hire trades on the cheap and have no regard for the safety of the home occupants. They are slow to make necessary changes and love to play the blame game with homeowners. The employees, just like management are incompetent.
If you want to have a home and be happy with said home, STAY FAR AWAY from Minto.

I am writing you to address my poor customer service experience at your Strandherd Minto location on September 2, 2020. As a Minto homeowner, I visited your premises to inquire on an email that was addressed to the Minto Communities mailbox requesting a notification of home release which received no response. Upon my entry into your premises, I patiently waited to be addressed by one of your personnel. Despite the offices being empty with only one other customer, I was left to wait without any acknowledgment from any of your two employees on site for over fifteen minutes. After the long wait, I was approached by your sales representative, Gillian Yhap, who was noticeably impatient and requested another colleague to assist me. In any other circumstance, it would be understandable for a customer to be redirected to another sales representative as well as for a customer to experience longer wait times during busy periods. However, this was not the case.
Moments following being redirected, a couple entered the show center and were immediately greeted and informed that they would be assisted shortly by a sales representative. This courtesy was not afforded to me at any point in time during my visit there. There was a stark difference in customer service between that couple and I which I can only attribute to race. There is no reason that my experience as a Black woman should have differed from the experience of the Caucasian couple that entered. There were no differences in terms of the number of sales representatives available or the number of customers present that would explain this inappropriate lack of customer interaction. I am dismayed and disappointed by not only this treatment but by the response of your employees when I addressed this concern with them verbally. At no point in time was I provided an apology or even an explanation for the poor service. As a company with over 65 years of experience as a leading developer in our communities, it can be assumed that developing long lasting relationships with buyers is of importance. This begins with the treatment of potential and current owners at your sales centers. The utter lack of decorum and professionalism exhibited by your personnel has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. As a sales representative, Gillian, is the face of your company and as such reflects the values and morals that you hold. Despite being a visible minority, blind spots exist for all which leads me to believe that either there is a lack of diversity training within your organization, or there is an across the board standard to differentiate customer treatment dependent on who the representatives feel is worthy of respect, and/or valuable to the company as it relates to a current or future sale.
There is no room for racial discrimination in customer service. Any underlining preconceived notions due to lack of diversity and ignorance do not belong anywhere no less at the establishment of a well-recognized community developer. As a customer, I look to Minto as I can be assured that I will not only get a home of great quality that I can depend on but that I will be respectfully assisted through my house hunting process. I write to you as I hope that this experience will be reflected upon by your personnel and organization. I leave you with the following excerpt from your mission and values, I hope that Minto can practice what they preach:

I am a former contractor for 17+ years, I did framing, trimming and backfinish for a lot of Minto job sites.
I created Bent Nails Inspections in 2017 to start to show home owners the true crookedness of every builder.
In all my time in construction Minto is the only company I walked off 4 sites for.
I refuse to have my company name associated with any company that treats their customers the way they do.
Here’s a example of today’s inspection, I’ve done 4 in this area:

They were fed lies after lies and left sleeping next to mold growing for 8 months.
The Minto workers said they had to fix a “pipe” that was leaking in the attic that was causing this issue leading to outside? Here’s a photo of the roof with a red circle round the bath and area in attic, I don’t see a pipe in the attic and not on the roof, do you?
Even better, no tracks in the insulation to that corner. I recommended and gave them numbers to lawyers.

All this because they make you think HRV’s in your bathroom is a brilliant idea, Minto just recommends it for a juicy $$$kickback$$$
Roger Greenberg doesn’t care about your health, or issues like this wouldn’t be 17+ years long.

Short and clear suggestion to who would like to buy a brand new house!!! Just Avoid from Minto Houses especially in Barrhaven and Manotick sites. Their management is the worst all around the city. The management is lazy to fix their 30days repairs even more than 6months passed. They do not care owner after the closing, and even their houses quality is pretty worse. They work with cheap, untalented trade companies, and I do not know how these houses pass inspections! If you would like more boredom and frustration in your future life this is the exact builder!

Very poor company. Strongly advise against purchasing from Minto. I have clients, friends, and family who have purchased from this Subdivision and are extremely unhappy. The quality of finishes is mediocre, the response times are below average and their overall customer service is abysmal. To add to this, they are deceiving when it comes to working with realtors. They talk to realtors like they are worthless scum of the earth. Also, Refusing to honor promised compensation even when paperwork was completed at the sales centre. Disgraceful service. Should not be in business. Take your business to Mattamy, Tamarack, or any other reputable builder.
