Overall, I had a pleasant experience working with Mathew and his team on my deck project. I had Meccano complete a rather large deck 36‘ x 11‘ plus a stone patio with interlock on the underside of the deck. The stairs were a challenge as I had a unique design and had the stairs go along the side of the house down to the front of the yard. In addition to the deck and patio I also had his team install 2 downpipe extensions and a 15 foot fence with 4 foot gate. I gave Mathew very clear drawings of exactly what I wanted completed for my project. He visited multiple times during the quotation process to ensure that everything that I needed would be completed exactly as I wanted it. He understood my overall budget limit and he worked within my limit with the best quality products that he could offer within the range. He did not cut cost on even the simple thing, for example he used premium hardware. He was very clear with his communication, and always answered his phone when I need to contact him. During the building process, he was very clear and explaining to me that some of my design choices were not as functional as I thought. He offered alternatives and made sure to accommodate the best he could my design choices and got my approval before adding his final touch. The project start to end took a little bit longer than expected. There were a few delays with weather, and also some delays with material shortages and sub contractors. Mathew was flexible with the payment schedule, this showed me good trust. He was open to understanding some minor concerns I had during the building process and was sure to make me feel comfortable that any errors or issues that I brought to his attention will be taken care of. I am happy overall that I chose to go with a smaller company, a local contractor as the attention to detail and attention to my needs and wants was beyond my expectations. Mathew was onsite during the first permit inspection, he understood all minor concerns and made the improvements, the permit was accepted and approved. This was the first deck that he built using Helical Piles, he took on the challenge no questions asked. Overall, I would recommend Meccano, they build good quality decks at a fair price and are very trustworthy.

If you decide to place lawn signs on your customers lawn or throughout a community take some responsibility to ensure they are disposed of properly. Your sign (among others) was disposed of improperly and ended up blown into the sidewalk due to some winds. Your sign resulted in my elderly mother slipping on your sign, falling and getting hurt while also cracking her phone screen. Take some more responsibility for your marketing material. DO BETTER.
