I found McCarty Squared from a "women owned contractor London" search, and they were the first to come up, and am I ever glad they did! To clarify, there are no exclusively women owned contracting companies in London (that I could find), but McCarty Squared is owned by Carisa and Garnet McCarty, and 50% women owned worked for me! From the first communication to the last, they have been the best contractors I have ever come across. I have been slowly renovating my home over the past 10 years, and have used multiple contractors, some with ok results and some with terrible results. McCarty Squared were a different experience from the beginning. Carisa responded to my email promptly and with lots of enthusiasm, and we arranged a meeting with Garnet. Garnet arrived EARLY (yes, you read that right! A contractor who is early!) for our first meeting, and I didn't know it then, but Garnet and his team's time keeping and professionalism would be one of the many fantastic things about these folks. As a note, these contractors do their quoting a little bit differently to what I have experienced in the past, and initially I was wary because it felt like no matter what we said, our budget would be entirely used up. And, it was, but was it ever worth it!! McCarty Squared did the most beautiful, high quality, entire renovation (including adding a full bathroom) on my basement. My very low ceiling, dingy, awkward basement. But they did not complain once! Their staff were punctual, tidy, extremely respectful, knowledgeable, and they genuinely cared about the quality of the work to a very high level (and don't forget hilarious!). They made it very easy to exist in my home with them 5 days/week, and their attention to detail is unmatched. They worked with every wild idea I had, and were happy to make the space exactly what we wanted it to be. Our home has been exponentially improved because we chose them as our contractors. If you are hesitating-don't! You won't regret the quality of their work. I am still finding things in my basement that they thought of that I never would have. 10/10 experience. They are highly rated for a reason! Thanks to Carisa, Garnet, Mike, Shawn, Keith, and the rest of the crew for this incredible experience!

Garnet's professionalism, knowledge, and expertise are among the best in London. I've hired six other contractors in the past nine years, and Garnet is by far my favorite to work with.
His assessment of the work needed was precise and comprehensive, and he took the time to educate me on the technical details.
