One of the employees slammed my back hatch of my van wile loading some abs pipe, breaking my front window. Later I called the owner (Glen) to discuss how to proceed. It was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. He laughed at me and said I really don't have to give you anything. Eventually he offered me $100, but then never sent it.
The staff were all helpful, and friendly. The owner on the other hand clearly doesn't care about his customers, or his reputation in the community.

On Dec 24th 2022 our family with 3 kids under 5yrs came down to Kamsack area to spend the Christmas break with their grandparents on their farm. Upon arriving found out that their pipes for their one toilet were completely beyond repair and required replacing before any use. My husband noticed there was still time to run to town to get the supplies needed to fix the issues before businesses were closed for the weekend holidays. So he called ahead and then went in.
At 3:52pm he checked out with his required merch to get the job done with the help of clerk Chaise. Afterward a Gentleman who appears to be in his 40/50s maybe, with glasses and a shorter stature, helped to load the pipe purchased into the van. While doing so my husband told him to wait and he will go to the front seat to see if it would fit in the length of the van or if they may need to cut it. In the front seat my husband saw it was going to be close but told the employee that they could try gently to fit it up in a window gap and he would hold it from the inside. However, rather then gently testing that theory to avoid damages, the employee closed the tailgate abruptly without warning and smashed out the front window. Unenthused, my husband showed the employee the damage that was done to which the employee did briefly apologize but then just returned to the store. Being that it was now after close and he having 2 older ones, a spouse and 3 small children who have gone hours at this point without a toilet, my husband decided that professionally and out of consideration not only for his family but for the employees eagerly waiting to end their day and enjoy the holiday weekend, that he would contact the store owner or manager for resolution on the next available business day. We ended up needing to drive home with the kids with the damaged windshield which gave me personally anxiety over the integrity of the windshield.

We by no means want to blow things out of proportion or are looking to cause problems for anyone. We just would appreciate the consideration and customer service that we in our businesses strive to provide all our customers in our small town as we understand being on the other side of customer complaint issues.

As we have had some contact with the owner Glen, it has been dismissive and condescending even acusing us of lying. He told us "I don't have to give you anything" and "it sounds like it was your fault". Over 2 months we had been back and forth enough he said he would etransfer us $100 and we could take it or leave it. However, still no contact, compensation at all or followup. This is the worst customer service I have experienced in my life and will never be dealing with these crooks again. Do better.

Great store, very good selection of products, and some amazing deals you'd never expect to be able to save so much in a small town store. Always go here before going to yorkton for canadian tire.

I always find what I need when I come to Kamsack's Home Hardware. The prices are always in my very own opinion id say they are somewhat decent despite the times we live in.

Really nice place like you will get every thing over there what ever you need for your hardware use even some small things for your house and some helpful things and stuff for car even they have the window nets and stuff its like you will get all u want in one store and the staff is kind and helpful good store in a small town it helps n save your tike to must visit it once you gone like it.
