Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. It's clear, based on their lack of care, values & work ethic, that this is what they'd like for you to do.

Owning foreign property, I sought out Hogg Shain & Scheck for my tax return needs. While the initial year of tax returns went without issue, the next two years found myself doing more followup with them rather than HSS reaching out to me come tax season.

With that said, after several 'reminders' to them that I'm interested in their services, they took an unreasonable amount of time to follow up with me. They eventually just ignored me, and I decided to send a general email via their website asking for someone to follow up. Ignored!

It wasn't until this year, did I decide it was prudent to look elsewhere. It was there I uncovered the fact that my foreign tax return to the IRS last year was NEVER done, and it was because the group that HSS utilize for the foreign returns had reached out to HSS multiple times with questions, and NEVER heard back from them, so they couldn't file my taxes. No one at HSS reached out to me.

After contacting the firm in the US directly to understand what had happened, I reached out to HSS to get to the bottom of this.
I have YET to hear from ANYONE at HSS, and it's been more than 2 months.

True to form, 2024 tax season has come and gone, and I again have NOT heard from HSS asking if I want to have them perform my tax returns. They simply don't care.

I've done myself the favour of going elsewhere, and I warn anyone who is considering giving your hard earned time, money and trust to Hogg Shain & Scheck......don't. They clearly don't care.

My only regret is that I gave them more than one chance at making this right.

I had a pretty horrible experience. I reached out in February, they said they'd help with my taxes. I sent over my information and they said they'd get back to me when my taxes were done. I checked in numerous times and they did not respond. Go somewhere else.
