Huge kudos to the team from HoeDown Excavating. They did the trenching for a rather urgent water main replacement (hired by my plumber). Dan was on time, extremely polite and professional. He had no trouble getting the mini excavator in my front gate. It was fun to have one of these in the yard for the morning. Good thing he didn’t let me touch anything! We hired Kelly and his crew to do some tricky repairs to our driveway and brick pathways. He was the 3rd contractor we consulted, and the first one who knew just what to do. His quote was reasonable, and the final bill came in under the quote. Kelly and his crew showed up when they said they would, worked full days, and left behind a tidy work site each day. They were all friendly and considerate and did great work. You should make Kelly your first call.

I'm a horticulturist and landscape contractor here in Nanaimo and I called on Kelly to consult on a challenging retaining wall project. His knowledge, professionalism, and enthusiasm for his craft are plain to see, and the help he provided gave us several solid options in a very difficult setting. I will have zero hesitation on hiring Hoe Down or referring them to our clients. If you're looking for a company who knows their trade inside and out and who really cares about their level of service, then I'm not sure you can do any better than Hoe Down.

Tim and crew were absolutely awesome when we needed our perimeter drain replaced. Tim gave a fair quote, the crew was there when they said they were going to be, and they finished the work in a timely manner. Excellent quality and can't recommend them highly enough!

Can't say enough of the wonderful service. Had to get new water line to house. The team showed up,dug up the trench line ,worked non stop and when finished you wouldn't know that any thing was done. Highly recommended

Exceptional service from start to finish. Tim the owner came to donthe quote friendly and knowledgeable. The operators, Dan and Adam love what they do, because they're hard working and positive. Their attention to detail and forward thinking got the water service replacement done quickly and efficiently. I'll use them everytime.

We are totally thrilled with the work Hoedown has done for us on our steeply sloped property! Tim, the owner, is efficient and fair and willing to listen and consider all possibilities for the best solutions. It is a top notch family owned local business with professional and highly skilled people on their crews. We have a difficult steep property to navigate with lots of tight and challenging areas.... they had a small BobCat in the back of the house area to install new drainage ditches leading to the front slopes and proper drainage installed there. The crew are always smiling and happy as they perform their very hard work, a great team in every sense of the word. Serena is our favourite BobCat Operator and Kelly an exception site manager, communication is extremely good at all levels.
