Not what I expected. We had the first tee time and we go check in and the guy up front wasn't thrilled to be there and when I told him we've never played here before and asked where the 1st tee was he looked at me like I was speaking Latin. Weird way to start off. The course itself was maybe a 4 out of 10 condition wise. Nothing was mowed greens included. At least the had 1 worker cutting new cups. The course has potential and was in a pretty area just needs some love. There are a few weird holes that are extremely short and felt squeezed in. Then you get to a par 3 that's 240 yards kind of a weird layout. Other than that we didn't really see anyone else on the course and we played 18 in about 3 hours. Not in my top 5 on vanvouver Island

CAREFUL when you book in advance!!! Most golf courses have great price integrity and make it clear if they are charging you an EXTRA fee for advanced bookings but Fairwinds misrepresented their pricing by giving the impression they collect deposits for advanced bookings...upon arriving, it was learned that the deposit is actually an extra booking fee and full green fees were charged.

While the misrepresentation of fees feels shady, the lack of care to resolve (by Travis is this case) made things way worse and unnecessarily stained Fairwinds.

Recently played the course it’s in GREAT shape… this review is targeted more towards Golf Pro Instructor Helene Delisle, she was awesome for my kids golf camp, so I took a lesson.

I’ve been playing all my life but haven’t had a lesson in over 20 years (I’m mid 40’s) and since I’m trying to play more now decided it was time.

She’s the definition of “game changer” one lesson in and immediate easy adjustments have changed my game and therefore enjoyment of it. She has the swing analyzing machine I’m not sure what it’s called, but it measured everything and quickly proved her instructions were immediately effective.

She has a great positive approach, and I cannot wait to book another lesson and would recommend her to beginners and experience golfers near and far!

Arguably one of the best golf courses in the Okanagan. Beautiful setting. Wide open spaces. No houses to hit. Very challenging but still fun to play. Fast greens!

2nd last golf course on our 13 day Vancouver island trip. Pleasantly surprised, great course. Staff was very helpful and Vancouver friendly. Course was in excellent condition, a challenging course but playable. Will definitely play again when we are back.

Nice course but a guy and the manager pulled up on us and started yelling at us that we stole his cart, staff just gave us keys and said take whatever one was available so we obviously had no idea. Manager just kind of sat there and let the guy rip our heads off then they made us switch carts and took off. Weird all around, probably won’t go back.

Always slow, Marshall isn't anywhere to be seen to keep pace of play, but is more interested in profiling young golfers, following them around. I felt bad for a foresome of young guys ahead of us being constantly eye-balled by the Marshall and they weren't doing anything wrong. It's a touch expensive for the quality - there's other courses that are in just as good of shape with green fees about $30 less.

I recently organized a Golf Trip for 8 individuals and placed a Deposit for a September Trip.

After showing up to the course I was told that this was an "Advanced Booking Fee" which was neither relayed to me or stated on the Fairwinds Website.

Brian was very professional onsite but Travis (Head Professional) has been underwhelming.

He confirmed that Fairwinds will not be providing a reimbursement of the Deposit Paid even though acknowledging this was not effectively communicated and that he will be updating the documentation.

While not relevant to the business operations of Fairwinds, The other defense provided was that other courses have similar policies... Those courses have VERY clearly outlined on their website which I also shared to Travis.

Fairwinds had many opportunities to make this right and repeatedly chose not to which is disappointing.

The response likely to be made on this post will reference the 24 days in advance booking which again is not the issue. The issue is that this was relayed as a deposit and NEVER an advanced fee and is NOT included on the Fairwinds Website or their Rate Sheet.

Mistakes are typically unintentional but how they are handled afterwards are intentional.
