Today at 6pm northbound on the trans Canada hwy I approached a white ford f150 well off on the shoulder of the northbound lane of the trans Canada hwy between mill bay and Duncan. It looked like the driver was putting something away in the back of his truck, cleaning up from whatever work had been done.
There was approx three feet between the driver door and the slow lane, it was a two lane area and the driver had their overhead light on with lights trending leftward without the point end of the arrow.i slowed to 30 in the slow lane looking for a break in traffic to move in the fast lane but as the truck was fully off the road I felt it safe to pass with caution as the were not actually blocking a lane. As I got closer the driver finished whatever he was doing in the back of the truck and stepped towards the driver side. He looked up and saw me and rather then waiting he threw himself exaggeratedly far into my lane , got to his door threw it fully open and then stepped out passed his door with his arms out to fully block the lane he was not working in.at this point I had slowed to a crawl with my signal on trying to avoid whatever your driver was trying to do. Passing drivers in the fast lane gave me some berth to move into their lane and everyone almost stopped and as i passed he threw himself almost fully at my truck and spat on the windshield.
This is not traffic control. This is purposely putting the life of multiple drivers in danger because you didn’t want to wait til it was safe to get back into your truck. The driver was wearing pit viper style sunglasses and was 3-400lbs so was very effective at blocking the lane. He had parked far enough off the road that a normal sized person could have gotten to their door safely without going into the lane. I’m not sure if he had a bad day or has a death wish but had I not reacted the way I did and had the other drivers not seen it happening as well and slow down he could have hurt a lot of people.
Now I have to wash his dried up spit off my windshield

I feel like dispatch treats you like dancing monkeys. For one, they don’t respect that you say there’s areas you don’t work in. For two, you can change your availability time with over a month’s notice, but they’ll still treat you like you’re supposed to be available on days you stated you are no longer available for. Thirdly, they had 3 shifts for me in 2 months leaving me dependent on temp work; then expecting me to leave site, for my temp, work because they had work for me at 9:30-10 AM during the day. I exclaimed, I’m not leaving a job site just because they demanded it. Then I was being told, I lose my job if I don’t go in. I explained it’s unreasonable because they had next to no work for me for months , but they didn’t care. Other than that… the lane techs are nice. Other than that, I wouldn’t recommend this company
