This company definitely doesn't have safety in mind when blasting. They think 6 orange cones will be enough to protect people and vehicles from potential flying boulders. No notice was given to tenants in next building where the boulders will be landing.

Good morning, To Whom It May Concern, On September 16th, 2022, I attended work on schedule and was aware of a paint company coming for the day to paint a galvanized steel staircase. I parked in my usual parking spot which was approximate to the staircase. The companies Name Responsible for incident is "Durwest Construction". Two Painters assembled their workstations. (Drop clothes, plastic sheeting, and blocked off doors leading out to the staircase). *This was their second time coming back to perform work that was done incorrectly* (Sanding and proper prep we're not done initially). I went on about my workday and was not given notice to move my vehicle. No other vehicles or personnel were notified either. (I have multiple witnesses). No one was notified to move their vehicles in the case of any overspray incident occurring. About 2 weeks later as I was washing my vehicle, I noticed a rough texture throughout. Upon closer inspection I noticed very fine blue specs covering the entire vehicle. I notified ICBC and the investigation proceeded. Durwest Company Manager Taylor claims the painters told him that they notified me to "move my vehicle" This was not the case nor were any parking stalls blocked off by cones or other apparatus. Due to lack of evidence the claim was deemed comprehensive con my part and no fault was taken on behalf of Durwest Construction. The company manager did not offer any compensation or fault and acted as though this was my doing. My company has provided the deductible for me to pay, they have provided scoring pads for my windshield this way I am safe to drive and windshield wipers. I feel Durwest Construction should take responsibility in vandalizing my vehicle. They should have better training practices put into place and have the two painters reprimanded. I feel People need to know the type of business Durwest conducts, and their way of handling mistakes made by them. I am left with a blue over sprayed financed vehicle that is deemed undrivable in rainy conditions. I have to take time from work to have the car dealt with and pay any fees related to a rental vehicle? /Courtesy car. This has been an emotionally draining experience that I feel Durwest Should recognize. Thank you for your consideration and Time. Meaghan Young
