We had a lovely three night stay here. I emailed with the owner ahead of time and was advised no need to book a package, they could set up excursions the night ahead and all would be fine. I was a little nervous that he never asked for a deposit, and even declined making me pay one when we got closer to go time. Emailed the night before we arrive to make sure all was well and it was.||First off - the nitpicks - communication was a bit sparse, but I think our approach wasn't typical. We spent a few nights in Whitehorse ahead of time, rented a car and moved over. I had to ask what time check in was (1 PM) and then when we got there (at like 3) there wasn't really anybody waiting, had to get attention of somebody in the kitchen (but he was as nice as could be). Had to ask when dinner was, where it was...he answered all questions, but I still had some more (when's breakfast? how do I secure tomorrow's fishing trip? When do i pay? How do we do the packed lunch?). I think a lot of people get picked up in Whitehorse and get a 2 hour orientation while driving to the lodge. it all worked out; not a big deal, just a little anxiety at the start.||The meals were good. I'm not going to say gourmet dining, but by all means; above average with a high end menu. We had prime rib one night, ribs one night, and cornish hen one night. Meals are 4 course, with an appetizer, salad, and dessert. If you bring a fish back, they'll cook it and add it into your meal as well (we took one ~15" lake trout to dinner; it was gonna die so we kept it). Breakfast is standard diner fare (eggs anyway you want 'em, meat, bread with juices and coffee), but it was always good. Lunch is a bagged sandwich that you custom select what you want on it with lots of options, then they throw in a side of your choice (fruit, cookie, beef jerky, boiled egg). It all went smoothly.||Our excursion was primarily going to be to Kluane lake for trophy lake trout. They don't get a lot, but the ones they get are huge. I was more interested in reliability of catching something so that didn't fully suit me but then when we got up there to the lake, the wind was whoosing and there were concerns with getting the boat back on the trailer so we bailed. The backup plan was a jetboat ride on Kathleen river and we had a ball. It was lovely. We caught several rainbows, a couple lake and a single grayling. ||The next day, the guide who drove us to Kluane and back set us up with shoreline gear and waders and we caught grayling to our hearts content on the shores of Lake Dezadeash, about 150 yards from our cabin. Wife and I loved it. We mixed in a couple hikes while there as well at Kathleen Lake and the Rock Glacier.||We thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

We loved our (too short) stay at Dalton Trail Lodge. We stayed in a comfortable and cozy log cabin - there was so much room to spread out. The property is beautiful, with a few small trails through the woods and down to the lake. The food was absolutely incredible - dinner was four courses, the highlights of which were the tuna poke and a pastry that wouldn't have been out of place in a Parisian cafe. (And there is so much food - you definitely won't go hungry!) Bartender and server Jamie was friendly and kind, as was Matt who served breakfast. But honestly, everyone who works there was wonderful. This is a great base for an outdoor adventure in the Yukon.

Absolutely super five stars!

The delicious food is comparable to a Michelin restaurant and the cozy lodge has a comfortable space for travellers to relax.

More importantly, the friendly and reliable hotel owner and staff members can bring you a miraculous experience.

If you want to see wild swans in wetland, bear prints on tree trunks, dams built by beavers in creek, or trout fishing in lake, Michael is one of the best guides of Dalton Trail Lodge.

If you live modern city and want to experience a primitive nature ecology, but also want protect your own safety, our experience of being rescued proved that Hardi is a reliable and trustworthy rescuer, who is the owner of the Lodge.

A wonderful lodge where you'll be welcomed and felt taken care of the entire time. It starts with clean and nice accommodations (we stayed in a cabin) and culminates in the meal time routine. ||||Each dinner times starts with you hanging out in the bar area of the lodge swapping stories with other guests over a beverage before dinner. Then when it's your turn your party will be called to the dining room where a hearty dinner awaits (appetizer, salad, main, dessert if you want it, and your own fish if you caught it and gave it to the kitchen). Perhaps one of the most special parts is ordering your packed lunch at the end of dinner for the next day that will be ready for you during a diner style breakfast. ||||The staff were all incredibly hospitable and friendly. You quickly felt at home and that you belonged here. ||||For activities and excursions, there were many from self directed activities around nearby Kluane to guided tours. One of my favorite activities was fishing in the nearby stream for grayling and the lake for lake trout.

This is primarily a fishing lodge, however, it does welcome guests who aren't here for the fishing.||||The lodge is about 40 kms south of Haines Junction on a wide well surfaced bitumen road. It is set off amongst the trees and the lake.||||It is the welcome and the hospitality that stands out. The family that operate the lodge are just so friendly. The food was excellent.||||Many of the guests are European here for the fishing. We met a number that were staying at the Lodge for a week or two that have been coming for more than 10 years. That must speak volumes as to the quality of the fishing and of the lodge.||||We used it as a base to explore the Kluane NP and enjoyed 3 nights at the lodge.

Our car broke down about 100 kms (60 miles) from this lodge. The manager was so kind to come and find us. Because of our late arrival diner time was over. But they served us a delicious full meal. We didn't mind being stranded there for an extra day until we got a new car.
