I hired this company to do the land clearing, foundation excavation, septic excavation and managing the foundation pour of land I was developing in Scoudouc. Joey Gionet that works at the company talked as if he was an expert and the owner of this company Jean-Marc Daigle allowed him to take on and manage the job.
The job was delayed month after month and I was "the next job" until it was coming into the fall, Joey ended up destroying a ton of forest trees that could have been cleared in a better way but ended up making piles of dirt mixed with tress that ruined the look of the land.
Countless times I asked for quotes on paper, would never provide it. Joey lied to me and said "you don't need permits out of the city" and rushed to pour the foundation, WITHOUT ANY ENGINEERED DRAWINGS OR PERMITS. The day he was there setting the crew to pour the foundation I ended up going to the city myself and found out you DO NEED PERMITS AND AN ENGINEERED DRAWING. By the time I knew I called Joey and told him it needs engineered drawings and permits, he said its fine the foundation will be what I need.
After the foundation was poured, I discovered that he poured a foundation for a wood framed house, when I was erecting a pre-fabricated steel building. There was no properly sized posts for the two main center free span supports that had to have a large footing. I also found out that the foundation was 8" undersized on BOTH sides, it was too narrow so the building would be overhanging with no support on each side.
I told Joey we need engineered drawings for the city to approve permits. He contacted an engineering company and had them make a drawing for what was poured with modifications to add the pillars that were needed for the clear-span support feet. He more or less had an engineering company make drawings that were incorrect and made to cover up the mistakes to get a permit. The engineered drawings had the foundation in there also incorrectly sized.
To top all this I went into the office (Joey would tell me not to approach the owner due to his moody-ness) and approached the owner saying I need this job to be corrected, major mistakes and this is ruining me financially as I am paying thousands in storage fees waiting for my building. Jean Marc exact words: "Oh you want someone that knows what the F*&k they're doing". The owner also said that he had no idea that it was a steel building.
There was ZERO oversight of this job by the owner of the company, Owners words: "It was your mistake going with Joey". He took ZERO accountability for his employee. The owner also tells me that he gets a lot of complaints about Joey on jobs. So why would he allow him to manage job? I also found out after the fact that the company didn't have the time to do my job, but the owner still allowed him to take it on. Joey daily lied to me about when he would be there, when the job would progress etc.
Going into the winter I stressed out and went in again to talk to the owner about the foundation being wrong and my concerns with the winter damaging the foundation, he said we will have to wait till the spring, and suggested a few ways to fix the issue in the spring. Said for me to leave it and wait till then, I also already paid the 24k bill for the foundation pour etc, and owed them approx 10k for excavating for the septic and drain pipes. He said to leave that bill till the spring and we will sort it out.
Spring time and his suggestion of repairs then turned into "well there's nothing we can do but put up the building" I went into the office with a witness and said that his solution wasn't at all what was discussed in the fall and I am not paying to have him put a building up on a incorrect foundation.
Joey completely stopped answering my phone calls and would avoid me after I got the owner involved, what's even more disgusting is that my half sister Marie Claire Biggers works in the office and also treated me like garbage after this job went south and I moved out to this province after she convinced me over years. Fraudulent Scum
