This inconsiderate company causes hours of unnecessary traffic!
We waited for almost 2 hours to get through Yale because this company can't be bothered to set up the red light timers with the actual flow of traffic.
The light would turn red to let no one across while holding back 100s on the other side.
What's more baffling is highways choosing a company that is SO incapable of doing some basic planning.

After the backup caused on Victoria Day in Yale - I think BC Highways had better have a pretty serious look at CRC. I attempted to reach out to the company using its published office number, was unable to reach anyone, and despite trying to leave a voicemail multiple times (using the IVR) was unable to.

To boot - Their offices are closed ALL HOLIDAYS. That's all well and good if you have staff on standby who can respond quickly should an issue arise. But if you can't reach a human being via phone / email etc how will the company know to respond? After waiting for nearly 2 hours to find no staff, no trace of a human being responding to a tailback in excess of 15km long is unacceptable beyond words. Many parts of that canyon lack cell service and if a life threatening emergency had occured - CRC would be top of mind for a lawsuit.

The reality is the traffic lights (which can be controlled and monitored remotely) were left on "default settings" without any thought for Victoria Day travellers returning to the lower mainland. If you're going to do work on an artery to or from the lower mainland - especially on a long weekend or a holiday - at least one staff member should be on standby. Close enough to intervene and change a simple timer setting on a pair of traffic lights.

I would encourage CRC to issue a statement or publically address this epic fail.
