Shoddy craftsmanship - Building was only about 1 year old and water damage was starting already, due to rain leaks.

I was the first tenant to rent a unit in a building built by Cardel. They placed rental HVAC systems from Enercare in the units, and made the tenants assume responsibility of the HVAC units.

After moving out, Enercare refuses to process my move-out and keeps billing me because Cardel never listed themselves as the landlord of the property, so there is no one to transfer the HVAC hardware back to. So now I have to fight with this Enercare scam because Cardel is trying to save every dollar they can and won't take responsibility.

I bought my Cardel home in 2017 moved in just before 2018. The whole experience has been amazing. The sales people were kind , caring and so helpful. The building team also amazing. The foreman who continuously went above and beyond to allow us to be a part of the building process has made my experience great. Now doing warranty items and also once again the staff and employees are kind, helpful, respectful and really seem to care how my home turns out. My representative is also amazing she is constantly following to make sure all is well and that everything that needs to be done is done. I highly recommend Cardel and I truly can say they have made my home buying experience a true pleasure. Thank you all involved.

My partner and I recently purchased a Cardel home and although we haven't moved in yet, so far we are satisfied with the experience - both with Lynne at the Sales stage and with Jenny at the Design stage. When picking our selections for upgrades, Jenny's knowledge and expertise really came into play in allowing us to design our dream home! She was always on the ball, and most importantly we never felt rushed at any of our meetings even though we went over our allotted time.

We’re about two months away from taking possession of our home in Blackstone and from the day we visited the sales office, we couldn’t be happier. We’ve bought a new build before and never experienced the customer service Cardel offers. Betsy and Natalie from the sales office were very helpful making the buying process easy; Sorcha from the design studio with her great suggestions and quick response to our questions; and very recently, Darryl D. the Construction Site Supervisor. Darryl provided us with multiple time slots for our framing walk through all which I couldn’t make. My wife went and was provided with tons of helpful information about the home and how to best save money on heating and cooling costs by using the features Cardel has provided us. Since I couldn’t do the first walk through, Darryl kindly offered to do another after the drywall had been installed. He walked us through our home again and had more helpful advice on how to maximize the features of our home, the type of insulation used, the placement of duct work. What was most astonishing was how Darryl seemed accountable for the work his contractors had done. For example, a vent in the bathroom seems to be too close to an exterior wall preventing a decent flow of circulation. He pointed this out and he will take the time to talk to the tradesperson to move the vent. Darryl isn’t going to live in this home yet he will do whatever he can to make the home suit HIS high standards. We didn’t feel rushed during the walk through and he answered all our questions. Darryl’s wonderful work ethic and obvious dedication to make Cardel one of the best home builders shows. Please forward this review to Paul Blinn - VP of Contruction for Cardel. Darryl is one of the best at what he does!

We've owned new homes from Mattamy, Muirfield, Phoenix, Mirtren in Markham, Belleville and Ottawa area respectively and Cardel simply leaves those guys in the dust when it comes to sales and warranty service. We've worked with Dale Laurie when we purchased ours and knowing what we wanted, after so many homes owned, I'm surprised how patient she was with us and our demands. As with any new home you will have minor defects but with Cynthia Gustafson steering work orders even outside the normal Tarion schedule and with Roy Craig on site driving the trades or even stopping to see if we're happy wearing his big smile, we had the fastest above-and-beyond service we've ever had. I don't know if we've just experienced the "normal" with Cardel or we were just not as lucky with the other builders but I can only recommend Cardel and especially the team behind, with all my heart. Quality homes, outstanding sales and organized, efficient post sale service.

I would avoid Cardel. Not only are their home designs dated and not worth the price, they are introducing new measures(auctions) that will increase the cost of purchasing a new home and make it even harder for first time buyers to afford a home. Look to other builders that don't do this for your next home.
