Our experience with purchasing purpose-built townhome units with Cantiro Homes has been excellent. Some issues were conducted during the building process that were dealt with immediately and a plan provided in order to resolve the issue. Most of the discrepancies during the PDI were minimal and resolved before occupancy. My dealings with them directly or indirectly were professional. Our purchase was conducted just prior to the pandemic so I feel that Cantiro navigated quite well through it in coordination with the purchasers in order to provide excellent service and adhere to the previous arrangement. This builder is reputable and I would definitely purchase from them again.

Bought my house from Cantiro on the end of 2022, and honestly I was satisfied with it from the very beginning. Cantiro offered nice warranty and thought I got a good deal. They fixed a lot of small issues under 2 month warranty and 11 months warranty. Basically those issues were not major things left by different contractors. Most of those issues were like just paint stains on the walls and doors. So I thought I got pretty high quality house. However, it is obvious that nothing major can happen to the brand new house during the first year of exploitation. And later a lot of signs of low quality material and unprofessionalism of contractors started appearing. Firstly, I had issues with multiple cracks on the walls. Some of them were initially reported and fixed by Cantiro under warranty. But instead of fixing drywall they just applied extra paint to hide those cracks, therefore cracks appeared again after some time. And I had to hire 3rd party to fix those cracks.
Secondly, I had cracks on my driveway. Initially I was told that those cracks will be repaired, but this has never happened, so I will have to deal with that on my own.
Thirdly, I started having issues with my laminate flooring. Laminate boards started pressing on each other and cracking. I ended up hiring 3rd party who confirmed that whoever installed the laminate made a mistake and did not leave enough room for the flooring under the baseboard. So when the house was settling the laminate started cracking.
Fourthly, I had some issues with breakers in electrical panel. Eventually 2 breakers were replaced.
Those are only bigger issues that annoyed me more thank others and were not covered by the warranty.
Aside from that I had other things that fortunately happened before 11 months warranty expired. Issues like water leaks. (Took ‘em more than a month to figure it out, so I was not able to use my en-suite shower cabin during this time). Also, they had to call a windows company a couple of times since all the window opening mechanisms started having issues and I couldn’t open any windows.
As conclusion, I want to admit that I would definitely understand if all those issues happened in 20 years old house. But in my case the house is less than 2 years old as of now and I have already had that many issues. It makes me worry about what will happen to the house in 10 years.
Do not recommend this builder based on personal experience. If you are looking for a high quality house that will not bring you that much of a headache,better skip those guys. I will update this review in a couple of years, so whoever is reading this can see how things are going.

My parents are a customer of Cantiro and they purchased a home a couple years ago in Edgemont Edmonton . We had our landscaping done last year and got in touch with a woman from the Lot Grading department by the name of Julie who was supposed to have the landscaping inspected and provide my parents with a landscaping rebate. It was extremely difficult getting in touch with Julie and when she finally did get back to us she advised that somehow our inspection was missed and would have to be done the following season - which was this summer 2024.

Since spring of this year I have emailed Julie several times trying to arrange the inspection for my elderly, retired parents and have been trying to work with her to get this done. I have not heard back from her in a single email or response to my several voicemails.

I had a friend visit the cantiro office last Friday and personally meet Julie who said she remembered our situation and would get to her office and contact me right away. Unfortunately Julie has still not contacted me several days later despite me following up the same evening regarding the email I was awaiting from her.

It is starting to seem like she is purposefully not responding to my emails or calls since she personally told my friend she would email me right away.

My family has had a wonderful experience with cantiro sales team when my parents were searching for the right retirement property. The sales team was amazing and we had a smooth experience. The same cannot be said about the client services and services for home owners of Cantiro Homes. It has been an absolute nightmare for my elderly parents who are not equipped to deal with this at their age any longer. For myself, living in Ontario, it’s been an even bigger nightmare trying to chase someone who seems like they don’t exist. This level of unprofessionalism should absolutely not be tolerated by your company considering how esteemed it is in the development and construction industry.

Please advise me who I can reach out to that can help my parents with this situation. I fear that another lot grading inspection season will soon come to pass and I will have to go on a witch hunt for this “Julie” person once again next year

One of biggest mistake I did.My house is still under construction but they never bother to keep me in loop during plan. Though I was told and I was keep asking for final design/plan discussion. Their favorite word is "Unfortunately" and "you signed contract"
I will not recommend this builder to anyone. They do what they want to do.Only care about their money.
I will give 0 star but system won't allow me to post.

Where do I start. Purchasing our home on Kulay Way SW has been one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made in my life. The service has been awful and the communication even worse. When we bought our home in August 2023 we were told landscaping would be completed that September. Surprise it was not. We followed up several times in the spring and did not end up talking to anyone until early June. Their “lot grading” department failed to inform the landscaping company that we pass our rough grade after more back and forth and escalating the issue we were told landscaping - everything including dirt, sod, trees and rock would be completed on July 17. July 17 came and went and all we saw was dirt. After multiple follow ups again we were told we needed to wait for final grade approval. I informed Cantiro because we were told everything would be completed on July 17th we planned to host our child’s birthday party in our back yard and booked entertainment so it needed to be completed before the end of August. On July 29th I inquired again and was told we would have landscaping completed the week of August 12 and was promised that it would be completed before August 24. Today the landscaper kindly informed us that our final grade failed and we need to wait 2+ weeks for the city to reinspect. Why were we not informed of this when we spoke last? I’m now stuck between waiting to see if they can at least lay the sod in my backyard or having to postpone our child’s birthday or pay to move everything to an alternative location. On top of this entire headache we have warranty issues that still have not been addressed since before we moved in and have had to follow up with Cantiro again to book our warranty appointments. The complete lack of care, attention and service has been beyond upsetting and frustrating. Buyer beware!

We have a business in one of the Cantiro Commercial's spaces. It was an interesting time opening this last summer with everything going on.
The lease was signed and they could have made things difficult since there was not a great deal of flexibility written into the lease for pandemics.
I am happy to say that they worked with us during the build out, were understanding and even went above what I would have hoped or expected.
They are a company that I would happily work with in the future if there was another opportunity that fit.
