I had an excellent experience with Building Investments during my stay in Ottawa — it was truly my best year here. The quality of the apartment, the service, and the overall presentation were outstanding.

What impressed me most was the professionalism, disposability, flexibility, and humanity of the team. A special thank you to the staff, especially Meet Engin, who was always available, responsive, and kind. His support made a real difference and was deeply appreciated.

I highly recommend Building Investments to anyone looking for high-quality housing and exceptional service in Ottawa.

Building Investments arbitrarily or unreasonably withheld consent to the assignment or sublet of the
rental unit to a potential assignee or subtenant (against Residential Tenancies Act, 2006). They demanded an additional month’s rent for the ability to sublet. Based on this experience, do not recommend for tenants.

Had an awful experience with this leasing company. Lived in an apartment for less than a month, conditions were not good. I paid first and last year months rent and then left. Total scam. Do not recommend to anyone.

I lived at the building on Albert street and it was overall a peaceful experience. The environment is safe, quiet and the building and its residents are very peaceful- that is the most important thing for me when choosing a place. Things that are left/delivered in the mail area never get stolen. In the unit I was in, I wish the two heating systems were working but the one that worked was okay too. Every other thing was okay to me. I cannot remember the maintenance guy's name maybe Brian- he was very nice to me too. The environment is also close to the train station, buses, very good safe downtown area without having the nuances of most downtown buildings. I liked that too. Building management can do better in the speed of their replies.

There is no service. Nick is a business man no compassion for people. This company needs to be held accountable, I encourage all tenants to file T2s with the Landlord and Tenant Board. If you don't they will continue to win.

I wish I had read these comments before renting from this company. By far the worst experience and they should be put out of business. They do not perform maintenance that they are LEGALLY responsible for. All winter they did not remove the snow, I have had water leaking through my ceiling for over 3 months which forced me to leave early and they have ignored me in attempts to still have me pay my rent for a unit I cannot even live in! As I was moving out, there was a large racoon found living on the roof not afraid of humans and very comfortable...who knows how long it has been there. If you are viewing apartment #314 please be aware of mold as they have zero intentions to properly fix that leak...the apartment is being offered immediately without being fixed.

Please note: I did all the right things in submitting requests, proper notice and did my best to deal with this amicably. Nick and Engin have chose to ignore emails and requests.

You are better off homeless on Rideau street than living in one of their properties. Very shady, do not be enticed by the prices.

Very dramatic process to even get a lease it feels like you are selling your soul, it's because you are to this company.

They say that they have housekeepers once a month but I've only ever saw them three times during my 12 month lease.They even somehow manage to make it HARD for you to get a sublet and give your SUBLET a hard time. Even when your lease ends they will still find a reason to contact you. STAY AWAY I'M BEGGING!!!!

I wish I could give this company 0 reviews because they will suck the soul out of you. Living in their horrific conditions of what they call “student housing” they make you pay for stuff that you didn’t break, won’t give you back your deposit and make unfulfillable promises. Julie just wants your money. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!! They are so shady and one day will be brought to court by the wrong person!!!
