Angus was parachuted into my renovation planning after a disappointing experience with another firm. Besides being very empathetic to our situation, Angus was the first (perhaps the only) to respect our budget. He also fit himself into our process in a rather unique way; He understood the thought and planning that had gone into the project to date, helped me to clarify my thoughts, made some spectacular suggestions, which to this day I am grateful for (i.e. lowering the rear living space to give us some higher ceilings) and then surgically correcting all my suggestions so in the end I came out looking like a genius.

Angus is a practical thinker. He's pragmatic, high value and very experienced. While at CofA, after witnessing applicant after applicant bomb, Angus went up with a simple hand drawn perspective, our massive plan set and a presentation that won me over 20 variances. His relaxed demeanour disarmed the committee and he had them all saying things like, "you know this simple piece of paper is so helpful to understanding your requirements". This, after a team of architects had just carted in a $50,000 model only to get denied. Wonder how their client felt?
