If you are in the Hanover area, you need to add Andre’s Alpacas to your list of places to visit! Andre & Karen are super nice and take the time to walk you through their farm and talk to you about their Alpacas. They also have a store on location where you can purchase different items like Alpaca socks, scarves, sweaters etc. ( you can also check them out online)
A fun family time!

We visited Andres Alpacas over the past weekend and had such a fun time! Karen was kind enough to give us a full tour of the farm, also sharing all sorts of facts about alpacas and some of her daily routines of managing an alpaca farm. It’s currently home to 77 alpacas and more to come! The alpacas just had their annual shaves so we hope to return next year to see them at their fluffiest. They also have a cute gift shop selling souvenirs, alpaca yarn and hand knit goods. We couldn’t leave without getting an alpaca stuffed animal.

Highly recommend contacting Karen and Henry for a farm visit and supporting their shop. They are so welcoming and so were their alpacas.

Henry and Karen are the nicest people ever. They let us in the field with the alpacas and then we were able to walk them! We bought some nice socks and a toque. Would definitely recommend

We made the drive from London to visit Andre's Alpacas. In our group, two of us are knitters/crocheters/weavers and I want to start to learn to spin my own yarn, so I figured going for a visit to my former math teacher's alpaca farm was a great place to start. It also seemed like a fun thing for my little grandson to do, so we invited him and his mommy too.

What a treat! Henry and Karen couldn't have been more accommodating as they fielded the hundreds of questions that we posed with patience and an impressive breadth of knowledge. They were great, but the real fun was the alpacas. Henry took us right out into the fields where we could interact with them and they were just lovely animals. They had lots of cria for us to fawn over and the little ones were just the right size for my grandson to pet. I challenge you to find anything cuter than a baby alpaca. Henry and Karen have halter trained one-year-olds that we were allowed to take for a little walk and this is when we really got to see the alpaca personalities. We were all quite taken with them.

They also have a store full of alpaca wool products with everything from clothing, to duvets, to stuffed animals (for my grand children), to yarn (for me and my friend), to roving (for me to spin). Alpaca wool is so soft that it was hard for us to restrain our spending. So we didn't, really.

If you want to visit with the alpacas and learn all about how they are bred for color, how they are sheared, what they eat, how they all poo in the same spot (seriously, they do that), how the wool is used, and any other crazy alpaca question you can think of, Andre's Alpacas is a great place to visit.

Thank you so much, Henry and Karen, for a really terrific day.

Lovely spontaneous visit in which we were kindly shown their new store and were able to buy some wonderful unusual alpaca ‘stuffies’ (animals) for our grandchildren, warm soft hats, and a great sweater. The alpacas were grazing off in the meadow and looked very sweet. Certainly well worth a visit!
