We are very disappointed and frustrated with this so called builder. they built very poorly and very unprofessional, we still try to make it work with no luck.
we have contacted them repeatedly and they have been promising for over a year to fix all the mess and damages but no one ever shows up to fix it.

I recently purchased a house built by Empire. It is only 2.5 years old. Today, I called them to address that they have installed smaller furnace (40000 BTU in 2100 sq.ft.). The guy said these houses are build under ONTARIO BUILDING CODE. We cannot do anything. How city is allowing these builders to put smaller units in a big house and how they are passing their inspection. Also, my HVAC tech said that whoever did the DUCT WORK, has done a bad job. My furnace gives me drumming sound when fan starts and stops. Most of the connections are loose. I am the one who pay all the bills. Not this builder. Because they have installed smaller unit, now, I have to pay a hefty amount of energy bills. Thanks to EMPIRE.

Extremely disappointed with the poor quality of craftsmanship from this builder. The work done on my project was subpar and below industry standards. From crooked walls to uneven flooring, it's clear that attention to detail was completely lacking. I would strongly advise against using this builder for any construction project. One star is too generous for such incompetence

Should have read reviews before buying from them. Awful sales team, mediocre decor team and horrible construction team. Quality of build is horrendous and screwups are one too many.

Been 4-5 months and there are still issues. How can they claim the house to be close to 97% completion with multiple issues. A nightmare builder to deal with. Never have I seen a builder close a property and take months to fix some basic stuff and then ask us to use the Tarion warranty instead of fixing it.

Went for a builder special event. It is located in the quiet end of the city with schools in the neighborhood and the trails.
Nice place for bringing up the family.

Empire is the worst builder. Do not buy a house from them. They delayed my closing for three weeks and charged me $7000 extra. When the deal was closed there were a bunch of issues with the ceiling, low water pressure, painting, exposed electrical outlets, window leaks and much more. On top of that they broke my lock and got into my home and left the door unlocked. My home was closed since Jan 10th and I cannot move in 3 wks after because the house is not inhabitable.

Jon Desseres from empire reached out via email to meet with me at the home to tell me about the situation of the home and he was not there after waiting for one hour .As of now he has not called or sent an email letting me know the situation.

Please choose any other builder but not empire!!

I bought my house from Empire Communities 13 years ago, it was a new build. After so many years I can assure you that if you purchase from Empire you are going to get the most cheapest in materials, most unreliable, most full of trouble house. You are going to spend a lot to fix all the "not by the code" problems, from roof to basement. Save your money and nerves, go with another builder, avoid Empire.

Phase 8a1 is what we bought. Seeing them
Build a lot but with worst quality
Take money from one
Close the home,
And they be like NEXT PERSON
They don’t care ‍♂️ about you for sure. They don’t deliver as per the standard terms like quality home, cleanlines, least deficiencies in home.

Poor build quality and materials used seem to be inferior to other builders in the area. I contacted Empire to have someone take a look at one particularly terrible area and was told to contact the contractor directly. The contractors are hired by Empire not by myself, and they are based in the GTA. They will not come to look at my house alone. I’ve talked to a few neighbours and they have the same issues as I do.

I own a home that is only two years old and the floors on both floors are squeaking as if it is a 50+ year old home.
