Absolutely perfect getaway - couldn’t ask for more!
We stayed here in July 2025 and had an incredible experience. The cabins are beautifully positioned facing a marshy ocean inlet with direct access to the Spring Cove Interpretive Trail.
The layout is well-designed with two bedrooms and a bath on the first floor, plus a family room with convertible bed and open-concept kitchen on the second floor. Each cottage features a balcony equipped with a picnic table, BBQ, and two comfortable Adirondack chairs - perfect for enjoying the scenery.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven/stove, fridge, dishwasher, and all the essentials you need. The cabins have baseboard heating (no cooling needed - the nights were wonderfully cool). While the location is quite remote from town, it offers fantastic access to the Pacific Coast Trail.
The real magic is the setting - Terrence Beach is just 300 meters across the street, offering incredible tidal pool exploration, Pacific waves, and the perfect spot for evening bonfires. We were visited by deer most days and enjoyed watching birds and wildlife from our balcony against the stunning ocean inlet backdrop. We even had an exciting visit from a black bear who explored the recycling bins one night!
Despite being compact, these cabins offer everything you need for a perfect coastal retreat. The combination of comfort, location, and wildlife viewing opportunities makes this an unforgettable stay.

What a find! We’re a family of four and stayed in Cabin 7. It was a duplex unit but we didn’t hear a sound from the other side—very well soundproofed! The cabin was spotless, thoughtfully laid out, and well-equipped with everything needed for self-catering. The location is perfect for exploring the Wild Pacific Trail, and the sunsets at Terrace Beach (just across the road) are absolutely top-notch. We’ll definitely be back!

We had an absolutely incredible stay at South Swell Cabins! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning oceanfront views of Spring Cove and the cozy, modern vibe of our cabin. The location is unbeatable—steps from Terrace Beach and the Wild Pacific Trail, making it so easy to explore Ucluelet’s natural beauty. The cabin itself was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed, from a fully stocked kitchen to a washer/dryer and even local toiletries that smelled amazing. The beds were super comfortable, perfect for unwinding after a day of hiking and surfing. We loved sipping coffee on the large deck, watching the sunset and spotting wildlife like eagles and deer right nearby. It’s just a short walk to town for restaurants and the Ucluelet Aquarium, which added to the convenience. This place truly feels like a home away from home, blending coastal charm with modern comfort. We can’t wait to return and will be recommending South Swell Cabins to all our friends.

Cabin 4 at South Swell Cabins is simply perfect! Close to hiking trails, Terrace Beach, and the excellent Ukee Brewery, the cottage is an ideal place to escape the routine with your partner, family, or friends. There were five of us, and we were very comfortable because the beds are cozy and the cabin is very clean. The well-equipped and functional kitchen made meal preparation a pleasure. With its stunning view of Spring Cove and its large terrace, the South Swell cabin is perfect for family drinks after a day of surfing or outdoor activities. We will definitely return to South Swell!

Cabins are new and very clean. Was a great home base for storm watching. You can’t see much of the ocean from cabin 6 but it’s a super short walk across the street. Shower is small but doable. One bedroom is very small as it contains the washer dryer combo. I would definitely stay again.

Our cabin was beautiful, clean and modern. The setting was lovely, felt safe and was only a short drive to a grocery store, shops and restaurants. The one bedroom is a bit squishy to navigate around and it also contains the washer and dryer but the beds were comfortable in both. If using the upstairs couch as an extra bed, be prepared to wake early with the morning sun as there are no blinds or curtains on the big windows. The cabin was well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed staying at South Swell Cabins! It's the perfect getaway, close to the ocean and trails, as well as the town centre. The newly built cabins are modern, well equipped (dishwasher, washer/dryer, coffee,...) and very comfortable to stay in. We had everything we needed and loved details like local toiletries being provided, everything smelled wonderful. Great place to unwind, enjoy a drink on the the deck and explore the area. Cannot wait to go back! Thank you!!
