Whatever you do, do NOT go with this company!!!!!!! Unprofessional, drinks beer while working, didn't finish the job in my backyard steps, put color on it which I didn't ask for, started to Crack in front of my front steps when I was told it wouldn't crack in that area, I even suggested to do some extra cuts. Price was decent but guess u get what u paid for.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Benco Concrete. After only two years, the concrete they installed is riddled with cracks and severe chipping. I expected much better durability and quality for the price I paid.

Sheldon Benson, the owner, is extremely unprofessional, which only adds to the frustration of dealing with this company.

I would not recommend Benco Concrete to anyone looking for quality work. Save yourself the hassle and go with a company that delivers better results.

I requested quotes from a number of different concrete companies to do multiple jobs at my house which included the front porch, front walkway, side walkway, expanding the driveway from a single to a double, as well as a new garage floor. I liked Sheldon right away because he was very knowledgeable and provided a number of different options that made sense for my house and that would give me the effect I wanted while being the most cost effective. I paid the deposit in early February and we were hoping for an end of May start. Of course COVID changed all of that and our job got pushed into July. The Benco crew had some issues right away which included working through a heat wave as well equipment failure on one of their Bobcat machines. I actually don’t know how the crew worked through that heat and with the equipment failure there was a lot of extra manual work. Additionally, Sheldon had to rent a compressor/jack hammer to finish the demo work and I know that some of the concrete in the garage was much thicker than expected! It is a disruptive process and I know this one took longer than planned. I will admit that it was frustrating at times but Sheldon did a great job at communicating and was sure to address any concerns that I had. For example there was a pouring mistake on the side walkway that concerned me. Sheldon had his crew tear that up the next day and re-pour. In the end Sheldon was good to his word on the contract with no additional charges even with a number of job complications. Everything looks great and we are very happy with the work. We have received many positive comments from neighbours and have even had two contractors stop to discuss the process used to get the stamped concrete look that was employed. Thank you Sheldon and crew Ed, Chris, Blake and Jerry – Great job guys!

We were looking to have our 18 year old asphalt driveway replaced and we were considering a concrete drive.
We met Sheldon at the Home and Garden show in Kitchener and were impressed with his years of experience and product knowledge and we decided to get a quote.
We met to discuss our options and Sheldon listened to our requests and helped us to decide on colour, texture, stamping, and layout that met our requirements at a fair and competitive price.
The driveway is now installed and looks amazing and adds a new look to our home.

Our driveway had to go. The asphalt had served it purpose and was long overdue to be replaced. Doing a house renovation is never cheap, and it’s even worse with Covid and the horrible prices of building materials. I knew I wanted concrete, but I needed to save some money.

I spoke with several contractors about allowing me to do most of the work myself, getting the site ready, graded, form work, etc. Not all contractors are willing to take jobs like this because of the risks involved for them and their reputation. If the homeowner does something wrong which causes an issue when the contractor takes over, its usually the contractor who suffers and eats the cost.

When I made my case to Sheldon about doing the work to get the site ready for him, he was very helpful, and answered my questions as they came up. He understood what I was up against and rather than dismiss me and go for a safer job, he came by and showed me what I needed to do to ensure we had a quality pour.

The results speak for themselves. Sheldon and his crew made quick work of this project, and I am very happy with the product. There was a groove in one spot caused by some grit being stuck to the broom on the final finish pass, but Sheldon came right back and cleaned it up, he didn’t want to leave me with a blemish without trying to fix it.

Being a do-it-yourselfer can save you money, but when it comes down to it, no YouTube video or Bob Vila re-run will substitute for years of experience. I appreciate Sheldon and his team taking the time to work with me and help me out, I highly recommend him for your concrete work.

I called Sheldon on a Monday morning and requested a sealer on my exposed aggregate driveway, steps and walkway. It was poured late in the fall and had just one thin coat of sealer but needed to look better. By Tuesday at 11 am his professional sealer tech was on the job and did an outstanding final seal. This is a 2400 square foot project and is all coloured concrete as well. It now looks incredible and who could beat the service? Awesome job and great people, I highly recommend Benco for advice and skill!

We got a quote from Sheldon on a concrete driveway , we were happy with the price so we went ahead and Accepted it , After waiting a long long time they showed up unannounced To start the job , I was working on my car at the time so had to quickly clear everything away a and move it As I was pleased they actually showed up.

The work was underway and we were very excited ,the guy 's seemed very professional And friendly , Awesome ! Then the experience went downhill from there , Driveway Looked really nice exposed aggregate, Of course we were very happy because we previously just had a mud driveway !

Sheldon worked very hard jet washing the top surface of the driveway away to expose the aggregate , then it got to 12 midnight and I wanted to go to bed so I figured I'd better go out and help him otherwise he will be here till 4:00 a.m.

With my help we got it done by 1:30 a.m. Needless to say the neighbors were very pleased the noise had stopped!

In the cold light of day I Noticed there was concrete spray over everything in my backyard including my barbecue my new gazebo my new shed! What a mess , they attempted to clean up but still concrete spray everywhere .

So now with job finished or somewhat, Sheldon Put the sealer On the driveway must I admit the driveway looked stunning from the road, Anyway end result, Crooked relief cuts, Fence on driveway pushed out of alignment and broken at bottom, the step going into the backyard is very ugly and should have been dressed ! I decided to withhold the final payment until the faults had been corrected , nobody showed up to help me or to let me show them the issues but they didi take it apon themselves to go ahead and take the final payment from my credit card anyway ! Guess I'll have to put the job right myself 👌👍
On a positive note Sheldon and the guys are great at what they do and very friendly just need to work on customer relations ! Great price for what was done .
maybe I was just the unlucky one with our experience .
