February 2025. Due to the storms we had been having the last week we had a lot of snow on our roof and a few ice dams that were backed up and leaking into the house. Mark & Zach came over, had a look and made arrangements to come back the next day to get the job done. Zach and his dad showed up at the time agreed upon and worked all day to clear all ice and snow off the roofs. Both men were very professional, polite and friendly. Snow was cleared from all outlets, vents and walkways, and anywhere it shouldn't be. I would highly recommend Trubuild Contracting! Added bonus, they are local to my area. Thank you Mark, Zach & Phil for a terrific job!!

Giving a 5 star rating because Google wont let me go higher! We needed to have new siding put on our house due to a wind storm. Mark and crew were absolutely fabulous to deal with start to finish. I felt confident that my home was in good hands. We look forward to using Trubuild for future projects. Can't recommend them enough.

Long story short, Trubuild Contracting was hired by our insurance company to replace our roof after it had suffered hail damage months prior. They contacted us in December to get this job done. We raised great concern about replacing our roof in the middle of winter, especially since it was non-urgent. They assured us we had nothing to worry about, they are professionals, and will appropriately time it based on the weather. We were weary, but stupidly trusted them.

On January 2nd to our astonishment, they arrived at our property in the middle of a snowstorm and temperatures below -20°C with strong winds. These were extremely treacherous conditions with blowing snow and approximately 60cm of accumulation in our area. In these conditions, the roofer decided that it would be a good day to start the replacement of our roof. If the job was an emergency situation I would understand, but this was not.

It was bizarre and alarming to see two workers attempting to clear snow (very unsuccessfully) from the roof with a handheld blower during a blizzard, without fall protection. Our two stage snowblower had trouble clearing our driveway, so a small handheld blower had zero chance. After mother nature stopped them, they abandoned their bundles of shingles on the roof and other construction material on our driveway.

As per IKO Shingles website:
-shingles should not be stored on the roof in cold conditions and should be kept warm indoors until immediately prior to installation: the roofers unloaded the shingles onto the roof and left them in 8 separate piles
-shingles stored outside should be fully covered: the roofers only covered 1 of the 8 piles of shingles. Why would they feel the need to cover one bundle but not the rest?
-”extra precautions should be taken when unloading shingles and applying them. Never bend, drop, or throw bundles of shingles in cold weather": many bundles were dropped or thrown and left on the roof ridge, bending and freezing them in an unusable bent condition

A month later we are still trying to come to a resolution through our insurance company. Trubuild Contracting doesn’t not bear the responsibility of a resolution, however we would not be in this position if they had not initiated this project in the middle of winter.

They had actually initially texted on Christmas, and asked if they could replace our roof on December 27 and 28 (days where the weather atypically warm). However they were a no-show that day with no heads up… very unprofessional. Then they showed up during a blizzard which was followed by weeks of relentless snow and cold weather, with 1-2 feet of ice and snow frozen solid on the roof. There have been ZERO days since then that the roof could have been replaced.
