Steve Built came highly recommended to us from a friend and they did not disappoint. Every team member and contractor that we interacted with either via email or in our home were professional, courteous and so easy to work with. Steve initially provided us with a detailed work schedule and quote and his team met the timeline for completion and came in on budget. We were so pleased with their work we asked them to complete a few additional jobs and they completed them within our original timeline. The Stevebuilt team recently completed a first-floor renovation & addition for our home (dining room and screened in patio). I honestly can’t say enough good things about our experience with Stevebuilt. It was a large project for us, and we were apprehensive given all the terrible stories you hear about contractors. We narrowed our search down to 3 contractors and ultimately chose Stevebuilt because they asked the best and most detailed questions about our plans, made great suggestions on how to improve our ideas, were the most concerned about quality, focused on customer experience, and provided the most detailed estimate. Ironically, the only flag was all the 5 star reviews; I thought it was impossible that every Stevebuilt project would be five stars. However, now at the end of our 5-month project, I find myself excited about providing the team with ANOTHER 5 star review. They earned it!

The overall communication throughout the project was exceptional. They used an online system that gave us complete transparency regarding the planned work each week. The system even includes pictures the team would upload a few times a week to track their progress (we were out of the house during construction). If we had any questions, we would email Stevebuilt and someone would get back to us with a reply within the hour. We were worried that being away from the house would leave us feeling disconnected and out of the loop. That never happened, we were well informed and always had easy access to the team. They actually encouraged us to reach out to them on a regular basis, and they proactively reached out to us multiple times a week.

Renovations are stressful (even in the best situation). Every member of the Stevebuilt team was calm, reasonable, and positive throughout the entire project. If something went wrong (ex: small delay in supply delivery, reschedule of subtrades, unexpected product issue), the team was calm and very solution oriented. I would get a call explaining the situation with 2 or 3 options to mitigate the impact and keep us on track. We ultimately finished on time and on budget (truth be told a little underbudget 😊).

Lastly, and maybe most importantly, the quality of the team’s work is unparalleled. Every single detail, and I mean every single detail, is carefully planned out and executed by the Stevebuilt team directly or by sub -vendors that Stevebuilt oversees. The team uses the highest quality products versus trying to squeeze margin out of the project by using inferior products or “less” product. They bring in experts for every single aspect of the job (kitchen installs, tile cutting, floor laying, concrete, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, exterior siding … you name it). The structural work was so well done we never had a single issue including with inspections. I also can’t say enough about the finish work on our project (drywall, trim, ceiling, flooring, electrical, HVAC) We have been living in the house now for 2 months and I still haven’t found a single issue that needs to be resolved (and I’ve been looking!).

When our project with Stevebuilt finished we were left with the utmost confidence that if anything did arise the team is only a phone call away. We are currently in the planning process with the team for our next project. I would never even think of using anyone else for our future construction projects. If you have any hesitation about doing any work on your home because of the terrible stories we all hear about contractors, I can 100% assure you, you will not have any of those issues with Stevebuilt. My recommendation, choose this team, and move on to the next step in your project!

We just wanted to say what an outstanding and meticulous job Steve and his crew did installing our sliding glass doors. Having a few concerns of wood rot and window size left us with a few unanswered questions, but they met all the challenges and did a wonderful job meeting our standards of excellence. We got our backsplash installed by SteveBuilt for our kitchen reno. Right from our initial contact with them we could tell that they are intentional about providing superior service. Dave McManus is the Project coordinator that provided a quote for the installation and set up our installation date. Dave provided top notch customer service and he was knowledgeable and reassuring of an excellent outcome for the installation. Tom was our tiler and he installed our backsplash beautifully - his quality of work is just exceptional and he did his work in a professional and timely manner. During and after the work he maintained a clean work area and we did not have to endure stress with post construction mess. Our experience was actually the least stressful we’ve ever had with any construction project ever. Working with SteveBuilt was the best decision we made and going forward we will have them as our first choice for any of our home renovations. Highly recommend!!

Steve is an amazing contractor. I have gone through several previous renovations and I can honestly say that Steve is the best I have ever worked with. He is meticulous in his attention to detail, innovative in his problem solving, and just a delight to work with. He did a very large bathroom renovation for me and I am thrilled with the result.
