I came to Architect for a revision of a previous haircut that didn't quite suit me. I have to say that I love it here -- I can't believe my partner didn't bring me sooner! The booking process was easy and uncomplicated. I'll note that I should've asked for a longer time slot for the amount of hair that I had, but we were able to make do with the shorter time slot. The haircut itself was quick, and my stylist took the time to stop and listen to my concerns. She was able to even out the layers without taking off too much length. Thanks Lindsay for the great cut!

My go to place for a month or two now. Staff is friendly and nice. Live music on Art crawl nights and huge back patio and dance hall. Keep up the great work guys!

i took my 13 year old son here for a a haircut, it being a monday a lot of barbershops are closed mondays, and we were going downtown to see a movie so we were early, so it was desperately needed, and i found this place
on google, omg it’s awesome! they serve beer, food, amd have a bunch of different chairs for hair cutting, they sell awesome hair products, and the people that work there are SOOOOOOOOO nice!! this place is just so unique and cool! we will definitely be going back, to sit down ina comfy couch watching my son get his hair cut and sipping on a corona after a long day of work before our movie was so nice!! we love this place, and will be back for sure and i’ll tell everyone i know about it too!! oh yah and beers are only $3.50 (or might be $3.99) with a purchase of a haircut! and oh yah they also have some board games to play, i seen someone playing chess, and they mentioned they have karaoke there as well i think they said tuesdays (might be thursday, can’t remember for sure!) eveeyone there is just soooo friendly and nice!! awesome place!!!! 🙂 so glad i found it, thanks google 👍🏻👍🏻♥️

If you're looking for an amazing Barbershop, an amazing Barber, look no further. I live in Toronto and I visit Hamilton twice a month, because it's a great city and it's a wonderful venue for urban photography and now because of this terrific first time experience I enjoyed at Architect Hair Design, I have a new Barber! I can't say enough about how well I was treated by the staff and the time and the attention to detail provided my my new Barber, Paul. Is it worth the two hours taken to travel from my home to Architect Hair Design... absolutely!

I was given a gift certificate about a year ago and me being me, I let my hair grow real long before finally caving and getting a cut. Lexi took my probably vague and confusing request for a shaggy mullet BUT NOT mullet haircut and 100% delivered. Just leaving a review to confirm that the haircut is exactly what I was after, even though I was probably sitting in the chair trying to recognize myself. The bartender was also a gem! Great beer selection and their hot sauce is tasty as heck.

The bartender, the guy who answers the phone, does a great job. He invited me in with a friendly welcome by name and served me a nice coffee. The atmosphere was great and I was excited for the haircut, expecting a really premium experience, however, the barberess who cut my hair seemed to be in a bad mood. She made almost no conversation throughout the 30 minutes and every comment she made was negative in some way. I wasn't exactly sure how I wanted my hair cut and I immediately felt judged as if it was my job to style it myself. She made several comments about the strange colour of my hair (apparently there are some interesting natural highlights in the back), and accused me of cutting it myself. My rating here would be much lower if I didn't overhear the barber next to me making tailored suggestions for his client and taking the time to make interesting conversation, or if the bartending didn't greet me so warmly. If I do come back here, I surely will not be seeing the same woman who cut my hair today. The man with the beard and tattoos seems to be a great barber though.

I just had my first haircut in Canada and frankly I was a bit nervous. The moment I entered the shop I was welcomed by the friendly bartender and the place is so nice and warm that I might go there with my friends just to chill in the future. I was called by the barber right on time and I had an amazing experience with Lindsay! After I briefly told her what I want, she explained very clearly what she was going to do and she kept explaining during the cut. We had a nice conversation as well. Turns out she didn't need to cut that much and my hair only needed some maintenance and it looks exactly what I expected. It doesn't end there though. Lindsay and generally the staff are really honest about the charges. She gave me a huge discount because she didn't have to cut that much which means she's really honest with her work. I will definitely go back there in a few months. Overall, I had a wonderful experience!
