Nathan and his team did a complete overhaul of the kitchen in our turn-of-the-century home, which required structural work in the basement, a complete retrofit of the electrical, new plumbing and new heating and insulation. We appreciated the detailed estimate and communication throughout the planning process as well as the regular check-ins throughout the project. The job was completed on time and within budget, with impressive attention to detail. I would not hesitate to recommend Sandy Hill to anyone looking to do a major home renovation.

Did a complete, back-to-the-studs bathroom reno. We had several goals for the project: a deeper soaking tub for my husband, a walk in shower for me, extra storage and a vintage look to complement our 100 year old house. Repurposed space from a large upstairs hall closet (the top part of an original staircase to the kitchen, removed by a previous owner) to put in the shower and moved the toilet to place the new tub under the window. Added a large, shallow floor- to-ceiling cabinet and a recessed medicine cabinet for storage.

The crew were great to work with, accommodating our wishes easily and promptly. The work met our expectations exactly and we adore our new bathroom.

Can't say enough great things about Nathan and the entire crew at Sandy Hill Construction. They were professional, knowledgeable and quick! We hired them to build a 220 sq ft addition to our 1960's bungalow. The new construction blends perfectly with the old and it looks as though it has always been there. My husband and I purchased a relatively small 1940s home that had never been updated (knob and tube wiring, lead pipes, lime green kitchen!), so we wanted to do our research before selecting a company to do an addition and a complete reno. We met with too many contractors to count, but after meeting with Nathan, we knew Sandy Hill Construction was the right choice. His no-nonsense approach and willingness to be flexible were refreshing, and his pricing was competitive amongst smaller – medium sized companies and below many of the larger well-known firms in town. Our project was a pretty significant one - we did a complete gut (including all mechanical, plumbing and electrical) as well as nearly doubling the home in size with a roughly 900sqft 2-storey addition. This included a new kitchen, two new bathrooms and another bathroom renovation. We were very pleased with the quality of the work.

Nathan has very good relationships with his sub-contractors, and a huge pro for us was that he was extremely accessible during the project. We were constantly calling him with questions of all sorts and he always picked up or called us back same day and never handed us off to someone else. I doubt that would be the case with some of the bigger companies. Finally, despite the massive scope of the project, it was completed right on schedule which we didn’t anticipate given all the horror stories we had heard from people who had gone through renovations of any magnitude.

We have recommended Sandy Hill Construction to many family members, friends and neighbours and we will continue to do so.
