If you’re looking for a company with good communication skills…well, actually Premier Basement Builders are not good communicators. Their receptionist (Monika) refuses to call back if you leave a voicemail. We left multiple and received no callbacks, especially if they think you should already have the information. They also don’t like responding to emails but that tends to be a better option, sometimes. This is a recurring problem from many of the reviews below too.

But if you put aside the communication problems, if you’re looking for a company that does good work…actually these guys are pretty bad at what they do. We hired them to do flooring and they installed the first half in the wrong direction and when we asked how they determined which direction to run it, they said “it was easier” and they certainly didn’t ask us how we wanted it, probably due to the communication problems as stated above. They also leveled the concrete in our basement, so at least they did that part right! Except that was also chipping and separating after they left, so it seems they weren’t able to mix that properly. They also got concrete mix on our stairs and didn't even order enough flooring for the whole job!

OK, aside from the lack of good work and communication, at least they’re able to stick with the job and make sure the customer is happy by the end of it, right? Hmmm, they actually bailed and didn’t even do the other half of our basement. They offered to end the project and just take back the remaining flooring they hadn’t used which we gladly accepted. They ripped up what they had put down which wasn’t hard because they didn’t even glue anything so it didn’t take long.

Do yourself a favour and choose a different company. They refuse to learn from the complaints they’ve received and have bad attitudes. Their workers don’t say hello when they walk in your house, they leave doors open, leave garbage from their snacks all over your driveway and don’t seem to care about their work in the slightest. Find any other company, or just do the work yourself like we did. You’ll get better results.

First class service from start to finish. Greg was very thorough with preliminary visit and provided a detailed estimate. He met every trade onsite on their first day to review all aspects of their work. All trades people were courteous, professional and tidy. We were updated regularly on the status of project. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our bathroom and would recommend Premier Basement very highly.

Can’t thank Premier Basements enough for the remarkable service and the finished product. Unprofessional and frankly, just WEIRD!

After seeing an ad from Home Depot advertising basement renovation services, I reached out for a quote. I was contacted by Monika from Premier Basements Niagara, who explained that they are one of Home Depot’s service providers and asked me to call to set up an appointment.
I did so, and about a week later, Greg came to my home to provide a quote. He took some measurements and photos, gave me his business card, and said he would follow up within a week. He also mentioned I could reach out to him directly if needed.
Two weeks passed, no call. I sent two separate emails over the course of a week and received no response. I waited another three weeks, then called Greg directly and left a voicemail. Still, no call back.
At that point, I decided to look up reviews on Google and was shocked to see a recurring pattern, a large number of reviews (roughly 25%) mention the exact same issue: no follow-up, no response, unprofessional conduct.
I find it both frustrating and concerning. At the very least, a company representative should have the courtesy to let a potential customer know if they can’t take on the job, instead of ghosting entirely after entering someone’s home and collecting information. This is not only bad customer service, it’s also a trust issue.
I would strongly caution others to read reviews and manage expectations before inviting this company into your home under the impression that you're dealing with a reputable, Home Depot-endorsed service.

They just completed our full basement of about 950 SF including a 3 piece bath, bedroom and open concept family room with gas fireplace.
We are extremely pleased with the workmanship and professionalism of Premier.
The quotes were very detailed and accurate and the final accounting left no board unturned.
We told Greg we wanted the same standards as our current home upstairs and they followed those and more.
Their crew and contractors were all very profession, as tidy as possible, courteous and respectful.
The schedule slipped a bit but I compare trying scheduling sub-contractors to 'herding cats'! Greg did a great job meeting our demands.

We have heard many horror stories from friends and acquaintances but would highly recommend Premier if you want the job done right with the least amount of disruption and surprises.

Premier Basement Builders have done a fantastic job gutting and renovating my basement as well as putting in all new floors in the upstairs and an electric fireplace too. Their workman are very competent . I had Tom for most of the Reno as well as Gene. Tom is extremely good at his job. He and Greg anticipated any problem in advance so the renovation went smoothly from start to finish.. I also had Mario who was equally as competent as Tom . They tidied their work area before they left for the day which was a bonus. The basement was ugly before and is unrecognizable compared to what they started with. Greg the owner does a great job of itemizing what is going to be done and what it will cost so there are no surprises Monika who is in the office is very friendly. She lets you know if the guys are going to be late which is very nice and helps with samples and design. She could not be more accommodating. If you are considering renovations you should seriously consider Premier Basements. I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. They do a super job!!!

We called Premier for a quote on finishing a basement. Greg arrived and provided a very thorough quote. We then had 5 other companies quote us. Premier was not the least expensive but Greg was very trust worthy and his quote was very very thorough so we went with them. They were awesome. Everything was done to schedule and the basement looks fantastic. All of the staff from Premier were extremely professional and courteous I would definitely recommend them!!
