We worked with Darren and his team, starting during the pandemic into 2023. Darren was really supportive and encouraging during the design phase, working with us and our architect, suggesting ideas and features that we might want.

Brendan was our site project manager and he did a super job, was very knowledgeable and 100% customer oriented. We lost heat on Christmas Eve just after move-in and Brendan was there!

The quality of the build was a very high-level custom build. Our neighbors, family and friends love the house. One of our close relatives who is a very knowledgeable renovator in Toronto said that it was the nicest new build that he has seen.

In the autumn of 2023 we embarked on a major renovation and new addition to a home/property purchased outside of NOTL. We engaged Homes By Hendriks who also referred us to Designs by Santy for the architectural work. Both were excellent choices.

HbH quickly caught on to what we value in a home reno/build and adjusted accordingly to meet our established budget. They provided the solid “bones”, never compromising on what would provide a sound quality home.

The renovation went way beyond a simple facelift and required a level of trust in HbH who had a “we got this” expertise. Along with a completely new addition beautifully integrated into the original dwelling, the old house was peeled back to the studs, the ceiling vaulted and all the studs strapped to provide proper insulation, and everything completed with new electrical/plumbing/HVAC. Due the planned below grade walkout from two basement guest rooms, one foundation wall was to be completely exposed and had to be solid! The entire foundation ended up being reinforced due to the old concrete block foundation. As with many old houses, there were a few surprises. For each one HbH gave us confidence they could effectively be handled.

All through the project HbH provided quality trades and referred us to finishing sources completely suited to our style and budget. We would like to thank their entire team with a particular shout out to Brendan Goulding who oversaw our project.

In a little under a year, we moved into our new home and are living happily in wine country.

I’ve had the opportunity to offer a different perspective and experience from working with the Homes by Hendriks team. I’ve been hired on several occasions to do custom metal work and standing seam roofing through my company Architectural copper & sheet metal. One thing I’ve noticed is the attention to detail from the framework (which is very important for what I do) all the way to the finishing touches. The team is always responsive when I’ve had questions and have always showed me nothing but respect and professionalism throughout the process in which I’m on site for. Our experience with Homes by Hendriks has been exceptional. We came to Darren Hendriks with an idea and he, along with his incredible staff turned it into a reality.
Right from initial contact, Darren and his team did what they said they would do and did it with a certain class and skill that super exceeded our expectations.
We added an almost 900 square foot in-law suite with a garage and remodeled the front entrance. Salvaging the brick that was removed and adding it to the new addition, the exterior of our home looks as though it was the original design! Incredible work.
All of the trades people involved were respectful and pleasant to have around.
Our talented site supervisor Isaak and his lead hand, went over and above on many occasions, kept our project moving and was always available when needed.
Operations manager, Greg Jonah, took the time to answer our questions throughout, patiently explain the many factors involved in our project and how they come together.
The worksite was always kept neat and tidy and our project was completed within 2 weeks of our original closing date!
Homes by Hendriks beautifully crafted a quality custom home addition for my mom to be happy and safe in.... and they did so with little stress and a lot of care and class.
