We recently had the pleasure of helping a client purchase a condo at The One Fonthill Condos by Mountainview Building Group, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. As real estate agents here in Niagara - and as people who’ve flipped homes and owned rental properties - we’ve seen a lot of builds. We can confidently say that Mountainview stands out for its quality, thoughtful design, and attention to detail.

The craftsmanship at The One was top-tier, with smart, stylish layouts and finishes that show real care and intention. It’s clear that Mountainview takes pride in every aspect of their work.

As a realtor, working with Mountainview homes was easy, and rewarding! I recently helped a client buy a newbuild condo in Fonthill, and the condo is built very well. The process was easy, and Mountainview made working with them (even as a realtor) VERY easy! (Lindsey, the sales rep was PHENOMENAL!!) From the moment I visited the home I purchased from Mountainview to the moment I received my keys, it has been one of the best experiences of my life in terms of customer service and prioritizing customer needs. I am moving to Niagara and starting a new chapter in my life. I shared this with Lisa, the representative for Mountainview. She listened to me and understood what I was looking for in a home.

Lisa showed me every part of the house in detail, and I could envision myself living there. The home was built to perfection, with no detail left out. I fell in love with it, and they made my dream come true. The process was smoother than I could have ever imagined, with all the support I needed as a first-time homebuyer.

There wasn’t a question they left unanswered when I emailed, and every phone call was returned promptly. There were nights when it was after hours, and I needed something the bank was asking for. Somehow, within minutes, I received what I needed. Mountainview is not just a builder; it is a company that makes the dreams of homeownership a reality. They genuinely cared about me and understood what I wanted.

They build amazing homes and have fantastic people like Lisa who care about what I was looking for in my forever home. When I finally got the key and walked into my house, I was overwhelmed with emotions because I had received everything I was promised: a beautiful home that I love, a wonderful gift that added to the beauty of my home, and an email reassuring me that I could call for any support I may need.

What a wonderful company! Thank you, Mountainview, for creating the perfect home for me, and thank you, Lisa, for helping me envision my future there and guiding me through the process. What can I say? "Welcome home, Melzena." For anyone looking for a company that genuinely cares about families and builds homes with love, not leaving out any detail, Mountainview is where you need to start looking, especially for first-time homebuyers like myself.

In my opinion, these homes look ugly, and they are ruining Fonthill. I find the architecture to be particularly bad. Not sure who their architect(s) is/are, but wow are these designs bad. Do you want to be able to sneeze, and have your neighbour say bless you? well then these are the homes for you! My heart sinks every time I go for a walk and see another huge section of forest destroyed so they can build more of these. And again, I find the architecture especially bad. That is my opinion.

All I have to say is that I am regretting buying a house from this builder. Poor workmanship, terrible communication and lack of responsiveness to customers defines Mountain View Homes. We have been following up with them for the last 9 months and they have upset us every single time by lame excuses. Believe it or not, this is not just a complaint or review - this is a legitimate concern that has been ignored by the builder continuously. We have contacted multiple staff members, multiple times over these months. Their promise of so called "partnership" and "being part of the family" isn't materializing anymore. The sales team here definitely bamboozled us by portraying us as they are the best. Unfortunately, nothing of that sort has happened. We have highlighted this construction flaw in PDI which has not been addressed yet. To our utter shock we have major issues in the living area ceiling roof and they tried fixing it multiple times with no result for 9 months. What began as a minor issue has become a big bubble now including our full scale anger.

My house is presently occupied by tenants and it has become a nightmare for them to adjust to our continuous ceiling fix request to accommodate the timings matching to the service team. Their service team has failed till now. Needless to mention, my tenants have a small baby and it's extremely difficult for them whenever a fix is happening inside the house. I am attaching a picture of the living room ceiling here as well. Look and review if my concerns are legitimate or not.

I am so pissed that now I have to take the position of "Onstage Complainer" and choose a venue like google (probably other platforms too) and expect to get a response from mountain view here - publicly. As an off stage complainer, my concerns were never addressed appropriately when I used channels like emails to front line team, phone calls, responding to surveys, through builders' websites etc. - but they never fixed the issue till date.

I have never been treated this way by any employee of any professional company ever that too at the very first instance of your association with the company. For highly rated companies like Mountain View Homes - to condone such behavior doesn’t say much for the reputation of the company.

EDIT 1 : To all the readers of the above review, I am happy to add that Mountain View Team contacted us after i posted the review above and did a tremendous job in repairing the ceiling.
The ceiling repair job has wind up and we wanted to thank Operations Manager (Mike Meme), Maria Kovacs (Service Manager) and the entire Mountain View Team for the excellent repair work done on our home. Everyone who has worked on this repair work has been great.
More importantly for us, the operations Manager (Mike Meme) showed empathy for our concerns and offered the repair work to be completed in a certain time frame is truly appreciated.

We are very appreciative of all the hard work your team has done to provide top quality workmanship. In addition, the service team gave us an estimate of completion time at the start of our project, and perfectly met that time frame. Attaching the picture of the ceiling after repair! I purchased a pre-construction detached home in their Saffron Estates community in 2020 and closed in May 2022. From the start, Sales Representative Lindsey was incredible. She was supportive and assisted us in any questions or concerns we had. Over the time our home was being built she went above and beyond what one can expect from a sales rep. We then had the pleasure of meeting Anthony who was the architect. He was extremely talented and helped perfect our home. The design house experience was also amazing. Alison took the time to go through each and every detail and made sure we were happy with all the modifications and upgrades we wanted. The after closing experience has been great as well. We met service manager Maria and site supervisor Pat & Paul. They all have been great with making sure any post closing issues were addressed. These days, it’s more important than ever to work with a reputable builder and you will get this with Mountainview homes. Thanks to the entire team, we definitely made the right decision!!!
