Started talk with Smith’s in early 2018 about a simple 2 bay garage foundation, however we realized that the summer of 2018 was just too busy to complete the project so we contacted Smith’s to tell them of the delay and that the fall would be a better time. By early August 2018, Smiths called to say they were fully booked for 2018. I said that was ok as we could start and even bigger project (now a 3 bay garage) in May 2019, after the country load limits come off. Their representative named Jane said on 4 occasions that we could be handled in May as we were the first planned for 2019. When I dropped by Smith’s office in October 2018, the owner Stu said he couldn’t handle us at all next year as he had to “take care of his customers”. Guess I don’t count as a customer! I explained what Jane said and promised (4 times). Stu, the owner and I made a plan to overcome this problem. We shook hands and I left. I called the next day as I was then thinking that there must just be a simple communication error with Jane. Stu then told me Jane refuted what I said, and that I was wrong. He further said he believed Jane over me and that he would no longer perform the work for me ever! I was shocked and dismayed as I have never been treated like this before. I wished Stu well and hung up the phone.

Bottom line is that unless you plan to be a REAL customer of Smith’s, whatever that is? Go somewhere else. Like I said, I’ve never been treated like this before.

Had Smith's out to form and pour footings and walls for a new detached garage. Phoned and got a reasonable quote. Had the foundation dug and phoned that it was ready jane and the other admin staff were great and very helpful. No sooner did I hand up the phone I had stuart smith on site dropping off wood for the footings and talking about the project. I expressed a concern of a tight time line and would like it done quick as possible he said he would try his best. And by the end of the week he had the frost walls poured and cleaned up and gone. Their crew worked hard and some late evenings to get the job done. The communication was top notch and they were professional and courteous. Would highly recommend them to anyone.
