This company has been doing work at Minoru and Westminster Highway in Richmond over the past couple days, and wow.. They are rude, condescending, immature and irresponsible. Every single one of their workers chain smokes while on the job - one of them was even doing this next to an (according to them) open gas line. Smoking on the job is gross enough, but doing it next to an explosive substance is just plain stupid.

The ladies who are "directing traffic" (they aren't, they're more focused on smoking their cigarette than holding up a slow/stop sign) clearly don't care about their job. I am not sure if they are actually part of another company that is also contracted to do work, but since no distinction is made, the owner of Mainland should be aware that this damaging their reputation.

They have the crosswalks blocked off without explanation so you have to run across two lanes of traffic on Westminster Highway if you want to get across. You ask for an explanation and they cuss you out and act like you aren't owed anything.

Apparently they are not contracted by the City of Richmond, but are working as part of a larger upgrade which appears to be funded by the Province. Either way - embarrassing for our city.

Horrible company. I would not even give them one star, but this was my only option so I could leave a review. Mismanaged and very unorganized. There is high turnover for a reason is all I can say.
