Wish I could give a lower rating. As my sister with stage 4 cancer was treated worse than a street person at the Barrhead hospital. She came into emergency because she was experiencing major pain. Instead of sending her where she needed to go via ambulance. They said they didn’t know why she was there. I agree with other reviews I read as they were worried about their fake eyelashes and fake boobs than saving people. My sister had arrived at Barrhead hospital via ambulance. So when they had completely made the call that she didn’t belong at the hospital I had came to pick her up. My family ended up taking her to the Royal Alex where she is now. Dying of a leaky gut from her cancer. Poison. So she is now spending her end of life in the palliative ward in the Royal Alex with compassionate doctors and nurses caring for her. What she totally deserved and needed from the beginning. I would NEVER let any of my loved ones step foot in the Barrhead hospital. I could say a lot more about the whole situation. But I will let God or karma deal with the horrific ones that treated my dying sister the way they did.

Had to take our father here due to a blood infection. Was told by the doctor he had to come for an iv of antibiotics every 12 hrs. Wait times for your appointment ranged from 2hrs to 1 hrs after checking into triage. When asked nurse how long wait will be she was extremely rude stating the hospital is not an iv clinic and said she had an emergency. She was chatting with another nurse in the hall way off topic about anything to do with health care. Keep you posted on next trip. Go to stoney plain or anywhere else's.

Absolutely awesome all-around. The nurses were quick, and decisive. The doctor was very confident, honest, compassionate, and humorous. It was an awesome experience for the terrible reason I was there. If I'm ever in need of emergency care I will be driving to Barrhead from Westlock everytime I can.

Great service other then the one doctor trying to send me else where when they ended up doing the EKG and blood anyways after putting up a fuss to have it done when your having chest pains like am I wrong for that? Other then that the nurses where top notch appreciate everyone including the doctor but he definitely needs to take his job more serious god bless 🙏🏻

If I could give a rating of 0 barrhead "healthcare center" deserves it. A Senior citizen was
brought to barrhead by grandchildren having what we believed to be a stroke. Being treated with no respect, no empathy whatsoever while being turned away with essentially no help, is not something that should be happening in Canada. Being a rural community is no excuse for how this situation was dealt with. They had "no doctors or staff"in the building that were able to help nobody they could call. We were told by staff to drive her ourselves to another hospital and we’re actually told to dial and talk to 911 independently for an ambulance after requesting one, they were "unable" to do so? Mind you conversation took place inside the building with staff members who have phones either infront of them or a short walking distance away this took place between 1:30 and 2:30 on a weekday at what is labeled as a "healthcare center". I would change the sign out front too
“ medical rejects are sent here to feel some entitlement walking around in pretty scrubs” as I’m sure the only thing they know how to do is put a bandaid on a scraped knee and click a pen

Took my wife in for a bladder infection and problems of mobility with her right side of her body. We were in fast, the doctor came in, patted her on the shoulder, gave her a general antibiotic for the infection and said go home, never checked her or talked to her about mobility problems. Very disappointed.

I went to emergency on September 27, around 10:30am, upon arrival the triage nurse (an older grey haired lady) asked why I didn't go to the walk in clinics, and why I would come to Barrhead. I am from Spruce Grove. I replied that I didn't know there was walk in clinics and that I couldn't get into see my doctor till the end of October. The nurse proceeded to tell me that well this visit isn't a solution and that I am not going to find out what is wrong with me, I need to go to my Dr. She asked what my pain level was and I stated a 10, I stated I have an ulcer so I do not like taking pain meds and had not taken any. She proceeded to say well if its a 10 why would you not take pain med. She then must have looked at my medical file and asked if I took any Neoproxen, I again said no that is what gave my an ulcer! I was seen by Dr. Mubin who spoke with me for all of 30 seconds, wouldn't listen to me. I said my rib hurts and the pain is terrible. He said it's a pulled muscles, I said it doesn't feel like a pulled muscle- can't order an x ray? All he wanted to do is prescribe pain killers. The Dr ordered an ultrasound for my abdomen that I couldn't get into for 3 weeks even if I wanted too. Turns out after having to make another emergency room visit a week later (thank you Stony Plain for excellent service) I have broken ribs!!!!! I was treated absolutely worse than a stray dog. If you don't genuinely want to help people then find a different profession!!!!

From the receptionist who couldn’t be bothered to glance up from her computer screen to the triage nurse who selectively ignored my entire existence.
And then there’s the doctor—oh, the doctor! I walk in complaining of chest tightness and trouble breathing, and what do they do? Draw blood to test my kidneys! Because, you know, chest pain and kidney function are practically interchangeable. 🤦♀️
But wait, it gets better. The judgmental nurse swoops in, bearing Advil like some twisted Florence Nightingale. “Here,” she says, “take this for your extreme pain.” 🙄 Except I didn’t want pain relief; I wanted answers! 🤷♀️
Helen Keller could’ve done a better job than this lot. It shouldn’t matter why I’m here or how I look—I walked into that hospital with a medical issue, and I deserve to be treated like a human being.
So, dear medical professionals, instead of strutting around like your stethoscopes grant you VIP status, how about doing your actual job? Your bedside manner is colder than a frozen MRI machine, and your compassion? Well, it’s somewhere between a rock and a hard place.
Next time I’m ill, I’ll skip the hospital drama and consult Google. At least Google listens to my symptoms without judgment.
You’re all a disgrace to the medical field. Maybe consider a career change—morgue attendants, perhaps? At least there, your patients are as cold as you are. ❄️
