If you have the misfortune of moving into a Genstar Development neighborhood just know everything you were told before you signed is most likely going to be taken away. They make empty promises of picturesque walking trails and green space and then walk it back. They lobby city Councillors to make sure they only have to fulfill the minimum if not less than the requirements of the city. They have turned our experience of moving into the city we love into nothing but regret.

Genstar does not make good on their promises. They do not care about the residents who spend their hard earned money on their homes, and invest so much into a neighborhood. Their only concern is to line their own pockets. They profess to hold utmost value in preserving protected forests and green space yet turn around and continue to commercialize and cut down trees which are home to hundreds of protected species. They continually make changes to their proposed plans including rezoning at the detriment of the residents and despite many objections from those who actually reside in the development. They do not practice transparency and continue to sell pipe dreams. In the short 11 months we have lived in Riverside, there has been numerous ammendments made that do not benefit the land or the home owners, and these concerns have fallen on deaf ears. I have spoken to many many others who feel the same way. A majority of us have turned to our city council to step in and plead for them to advocate on our behalf. Hopefully we get somewhere with them because I have lost all faith in Genstar. BUYER BEWARE!
